So @NRowe started a discussion about exploring all of the game play in the Sims. @elanorbreton suggested going in alphabetical order and this gave me an idea for a legacy challenge. What if each gener...
This version of the challenge has only been updated through Crystal Creations. Since it's difficult to update posts that were transferred from the old forums, I set up a new thread here. As of right now, the new version of the challenge includes game play from Lovestruck.
Celia still has quite a few things on her to do list: master Comedy, finish the City Native aspiration, reach the top of the Critic and Covert Operator careers, complete the Crystal collection, shop at the Curio stall, woohoo in a Closet, and die of Cardiac explosion. She can't hog the spotlight anymore, though, because D Gen is here. @luvdasims55 suggested the name Dahlia, which I thought was lovely. Dahlia's part of the challenge is a lot less demanding than the earlier generations.
Here are the objectives for her early years: Child-Drama Club Final Traits- Dance Machine, randomize other traits Likes-DJ Mixing, Dancing, DJ Booth music Dislikes-White, World music, Winter Holiday music, Writing Teen+ Skills- Dancing, DJ Mixing Collections-Decorative Eggs
Dahlia is here! Unfortunately, Diego didn't live to meet her. Keon has recovered from his grief with the help of the sadness hotline, but Celia, with her uncontrolled emotions trait, is still pretty devastated. Keon thinks that it would help to remind her of the things she used to enjoy. He invites her to GeekCon, where she finally wins the gaming contest, completing the City Native aspiration. From now on she gets deep discounts at food stalls. She also finally built a wormhole generator so that she can look for crystals on planet Sixam.
Now that she's started elementary school, Dahlia is eager to join Drama club. The Child's Play lot trait helps her build the creativity skill she needs to get promoted. Her goofball trait also helps her get into a playful mood. Speaking of goofiness, Celia finally mastered the Comedy skill at the Humor and Hijinks festival.
Dahlia's discovered that she doesn't like Winter Holiday music, World Music or the color White. Although it isn't a rule of the challenge, I've decided that, in cases where a heir's aesthetic preferences are defined entirely by dislikes, I'll style them to be loosely opposite from the thing(s) they dislike. Because Dahlia doesn't like the color white, I'll dress her in dark shades. While tagging along with her mother on a food critic assignment to a night club, Dahlia discovered that she likes Dancing and DJ booth music.
Celia comes home from work one day to find Keon waiting for her with a folder on the coffee table. Since Keon became a covert operator he's been doing a lot of mysterious things. "I've fallen under suspicion from surveillance targets in Oasis Springs, so I have to avoid the area now. I have some important information to share with a contact that can't wait. Do you think you could convince your boss to let you have an assignment to Oasis Springs? Don't tell her why, not the real reason." Celia agrees, this all sounds very exciting. A few days later, she is at Rattlesnake Juice waiting for her food when a red-head that everyone calls Marina sits next to her and gives her the code phrase. She leaves her purse open so that Marina can steal the folder.
It's Sunday, and the family decides to have an egg hunt. Both Dahlia and Celia love this tradition. By the end of the day, Dahlia has found all of the decorative eggs. She receives Bun Bun the bunny toy as a reward that night. I've never done a Sims egg hunt before, this was really cute.
Celia has become a Curator of the Finest Flavors, the top of the food Critic career. Keon saw this coming and comes out to meet her. Celia already feels like she needs a new professional challenge, though. She asks him about becoming a Covert operator, so he helps her get a job in the military. Before too long, she has advanced to become an Evidence Eraser, the first level of the Covert operator branch. This requires honing her logic skills. She also needs bugs to plant on people, so she goes to the Curio stall in Strangerville to buy them.
Dahlia is a teen now and her parents let her makeover her bedroom. This is especially delightful for her because she now has the Materialistic trait. She's still in the drama club, so she practices her acting. She's decided to try her hand at DJ mixing now that she's old enough to do it herself.
Celia and Keon have successfully completed an assignment to plant a bug on Diamond Zest. They take a moment to celebrate their success in the club's coat Closet. Afterwards, she visits planet Sixam where she finds the rainborz Crystal, the final one for her collection.
Celia and Dahlia have both achieved important goals. Celia is now a Sim-in-Black, the top of the Covert Operator career, and Dahlia is a Junior Artiste, the highest rank in Drama club. Dahlia puts her Drama club award in the living room.
Celia manages to calm down in time for Dahlia's birthday. Dahlia is now a young adult with the Dance Machine trait. Later, Celia runs into Marina again at the Shrieking Llama. They get into such a terrible fight that Celia dies of Cardiac Explosion. While Keon and other onlookers are distressed, Marina gloats over Celia's demise.
