An Ugly Legacy Family Tree!

Hi everyone - I've always been a fan of the original Sims 2 Uglacy Challenge, which is a take on the traditional legacy challenge where you try and get the ugliest Sim possible at the end of 10 generations *evil laughter*. I have a different thread where I post pure updates to the story whenever I publish the latest chapters. But I wanted to start another thread too.

While my story chapters are too long to be posted on the forums, I really like that kind of style. It gives you a nice glimpse of what you'll get beforehand and I think it increases engagement with readers and other forum-goers, and I'd like to do that for my story. I've kept it up now for a couple of months but want to keep it going and really look forward to getting some feedback.

So, this forum will be dedicated to getting to know the individual characters in my Uglacy family. I really love playing these characters, and I hope you guys find as much amusement reading about them as I do playing them <3. And without further adieu, I present the first installation of "Meet My Ugly Family!"

***

Donald and Shauna Uglacy are the Generation 1 founding couple of my Uglacy Challenge. While they do not feature prominently in the story (I may have started writing part way through Generation 2), they feature prominently in my HEART AND MIND. Donald began his soon-to-be distinguished lineage as a regular ol' chap with no money, some land, and a real bad winter. He also began the tradition of naming the children after figures or things that I dislike in real life :).

I'll be posting individualized profiles soon. Thanks for reading and Happy Simming!
  • So, I just caught up on your uglacy. I like your writing style - full of laughs.

I did laugh when Vlad died. Mostly because I killed him in a similar way in my 100 baby challenge. he went swimming in Sulani after his "donation" and did not leave. I'm sorry he ruined your plans though.

And wow with the multiples. I rarely get multiples unless I use ley line or some other help.

I look forward to reading more.
  • Generation 1 Founder: Donald Uglacy. This is Donald Uglacy, the founder of our Uglacy family (and the founder of the tradition wherein we name Uglacy offspring after things I don't like in real life). Donald proved to be an excellent founder - Charismatic, gregarious, and genuinely interested achieving the best for others, he ruled as leader of the all-powerful Sim State for 20 years, befriending all around him and never making a single enemy. While he doesn't feature in my story, his legacy extends through to his... legacy...

My real only qualm with Donald was that I just had to make him somewhat similar to real life Donald, so I made him a couch potato. This Sim could. not. exercise. to. save. his. life. He lasted like 5 minutes on the treadmill (like real life, am I right?) and would constantly complain about his inability to indulge his sloth habits.

  • Generation 1 Spouse: Shauna Uglacy. It's always a great idea to start off 10 generations with a founding spouse who dislikes children, but beggars can't be choosers. At this point, I had been so desperate to find Donald a wife that I used cheats, clicked on the mailbox, and looked through every single Sim in town before I could find her. Shauna isn't particularly ugly - I find her more unique rather than anything - but I figured she'd be a good starting point for the next generations. She had more than just a suitable appearance though - Shauna actually moved in with $150,000 in funds after selling her high-rise condominium in the city. According to official legacy rules, I should have deleted all of this money, but, well, I conveniently forgot. Shauna is more or less the reason why the family is so rich at the start of Generation 4.

Fun fact - Shauna used to be "Shaun" before I took to CAS for some editing. This is not the first time this has happened in this family - See Generation 2 spouse Clementa (neé Clement Frost). We are very open-minded in this Legacy, a theme that shows up frequently. Shauna continued to mint money throughout her life, becoming a high-powered CEO in the Business Career, an excellent other half to Donald's Leader of the Free World.

  • @DCJ504 Thanks so much for reading and for the comments! I have no idea what's going on with multiples either so hopefully we can control the reproduction soon.

Big lol at Vlad dying by not ever leaving. At least it's consistent across games!
  • Generation 2 Heir: Eric Uglacy. The middle child of three only slightly-ugly children, I chose Eric to be heir before I began writing the story because of his nose and mouth, figuring that they held potential for later generations. Indeed they have, as Generation 3's Ivana and all of the Generation 4 kids seem to have inherited one or both features. Eric proved just good looking enough to encourage all of the women (and men) (and Simself of me!) everywhere to fall in love with him, what with his Serial Romantic aspiration.

In addition to being a prolific womanizer, Eric was a devoted family man who had five children with his wife Clementa (neé Clement Frost). There's a line I wrote in one of the chapters where he said, "I'm of the opinion that virility is a virtue" and, well, though completely ridiculous, really sums up Eric. He was also as prolific in his life as a 5-star celebrity. A master actor, he starred in a variety of films across genres, although my favorite role of his was "Captain Sigma" a la "Captain America." Yes, Eric could be Chris Evans.

Fun fact: Eric inspired love and devotion across all species - Lots of the men in town, be they humans, aliens, or vampires, mimicked his lackadaisical outfit. This includes Vlad the vampire, his own sons, and like 80 random townies. Grim Reaper was a huge fan too, word has it.

  • Generation 2 Spouse: Clementa Uglacy, neé Frost. I was brooding to my sister one day about the lack of ugly Sims in this game, tormented by the possibility of attractive Generation 3 children (Eric is not terribly ugly, mind you, so we needed help), and she innocently suggested, "What about Santa Claus?" Yeah, took that one and ran with it - After some MCCC Command Center, Clement Frost became Clementa, and assumed the unsuspecting role of ultimate Matriarch and probably one of the most recognizable figures in the Uglacy Family, likely ever. I did age her down significantly to match Eric's age, which seems to have backfired because Clementa is now frozen in elder hood and refuses to die.

Yep - Our town is controlled by a do-gooder, immortal, female Santa Claus.

I'd originally started to write Clementa as more of a passive figure in the Uglacy storylines, but as it turns out, her personality shone through on free will, significantly. Despite putting up with her husband's womanizing ways, Clementa wasn't a pushover - She entered the household with three maximized skills and made thousands of dollars as an immensely famous singer and entertainer. She also ended up with (I think, I lost count) more romantic relationships than her husband. Most of these relationships occurred without me noticing half the time, and most are definitely not at all appropriate. For instance, Clementa's romantic pursuits include her sister-in-law, her son-in-law, her sister-in-law's son (I have no idea how this happened and I truly hate it), and various maids under her employ.

At present, Clementa is still alive and I find it hard to kill her off (even if she's 250+ days old) because I like her so much. I am playing with the idea of giving her her own lot where she can live throughout the next 6 generations as the eternal Uglacy mascot.

Fun Fact: Clementa had five children of her own and is up to 11 (!) grandchildren in Generation 4 so far. Give it a couple of generations and this entire town will claim descent from Clement(a) Frost.

Donald Jr. Uglacy. Donald Jr. was the firstborn child of Donald and Shauna Uglacy, and he is the one who began the naming scheme of "Trump Administration." He and Eric ended up being best friends, and Donald Jr. ended up marrying his high school sweetheart, Mae Steinwedel. Donald Jr. wasn't a very remarkable Sim, much like his real life counterpart, and he really just kind of didn't exist to the storyline. Donald Jr. did have red hair though, which was nice.

He and Mae had three children: Brenton, Alexandra, and Rolando, at least some of whom look like they could have contributed to significantly to the ugly gene pool. Alexandra reminds me of Velma from Scooby Doo.
