Bare Your Fangs! Vampire Pictures, Stories and Gameplay Advice Please
Hi all, I am working on a storyline in my game that will ultimately involve a neighborhood based on rival covens of vampires, so I was wondering if anyone out there, has pictures of your vamps, stories about vampire stuff or advice or ideas on vampire play in general. I'd love to hear and see what you've got. Thanks!
To start here are some pictures from my first coven: This is my Circle of Love Coven as a Group https://i.imgur.com/Fu3smS9.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ueLBgKr.jpg
And the members are: Don Lothario (Not a vampire, but an integral part of the group) https://i.imgur.com/3OlTwP7.jpg Jaiden Lansing (Head vampire in the coven) https://i.imgur.com/7fFiVQv.jpg Caleb Vatore (vampire) https://i.imgur.com/gFGHVFQ.jpg Silas Vaughn (vampire) https://i.imgur.com/GgkNyow.jpg And Christian Webber (newest member and vampire) https://i.imgur.com/9hfPBNI.jpg
From time to time I'll update with new Covens or new members who may join the covens. Please feel welcome to show us your vampires and tell us all about them too!
@MaggieMarley Hey, Travis Scott is a huge player in my founding family too. In my main save he is married to my avatar and I changed his name to Jeremy Stratus 'cause I had way too many Scotts running around and I didn't like his name anyway. (gratuitous pics for anyone interested in what Travis looks like in my game ).
The left is my most recent CAS shot of him, but the right is kinda neat 'cause he came home from work after a promotion with no makeup or accessories at all (not even eyelashes - quite naked by my standards LOL). https://i.imgur.com/X9otcda.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3vGsk31.jpg
This is a fantastic and intricate narrative. Thank You many times over for sharing. I don't know where to begin. I love the story of Lettie and her adventuring in Selvadorada (as a dog lover, and a geek, I have to love the fact that the, "dog's name was Indiana". - that's hysterical). I also love that you incorporate your pets into this legacy, I haven't seen that a lot. (although I may not be looking in the right places), but bringing Mayor Whiskers from generation to generation gives this family, IMO, more of a legacy than just say passing down a Lot or some money. It's really cool.
I've also never read such a detailed accounting of the Straud family. A lot of folk I've talked to hate Vlad or love him as evil, but to see him portrayed in your story as injured and certainly very capable of love and other complex relationships is really cool, and gives me a real investment in his motives and in his legacy moving forward (his children and future generations). (I got Vlad killed early on, but I am resurrecting his "family" with my Royals coven - although honestly the sims I am adding have no genetic attachment - in game - to Vlad himself - I'm fabricating that part).
What I know about Aliens and Ghosts, couldn't fill a thimble, but this is really interesting stuff. It's enlightening for me. I had no idea that aliens and vamps could be hybridized and retain elements of both races (that is what happened here right? I was worried I might have misunderstood). So Wow! cool beans. Now I don't play legacy so I don't have an understanding of the rules, does the fact that your legacy has moved away from the hybrids mean that you have left them behind in gameplay as well? 'Cause there's some really cool stuff going on with those chars, so that'd be sad.
Finally, one of the really cool things about you showing us the generations as they were born and as their stories developed, is that I got to see how the genetic appearances of your sims carries into the following generations, I see features from early generations appearing in later ones, having not been so prevalent in the between generation. It's pretty neat. I have a lot more thought on this family and what you have shared, but I fear I don't have the time to really go into it as much as I'd like right now. Just know, this was not boring at all, and it has really sparked some cool ideas for me. Thank You again.
@MaggieMarley Now THAT's a vampire legacy! I quite like where it's headed, and this is why I can never do legacies because I'll never get this far lol. Plus I'm impatient with waiting on children to age up.
@kirivian Actually vampire-alien hybrids are actually not supposed to happen, as in the coding meshes those occult states together and their forms end up tangling together and may become very glitchy. Most of their abilities will probably still work though, but don't expect them to be fully functioning sims after that. I tested that so long as you never go into CAS to edit them, alien/vampire sims with the opposing occult trait applied will function fully.
@paradiseplanet Thanx for the info on that. I will bear it in mind if I ever experiment with hybrids. Does using MCCC help? because I use MCCC, but I do not enable story progression (I'm too OCD and controlling), but if story progression is what allows this type of hybrid to be experimented with, I might try it.

I'm too weary on using MCCC so I can't help you with that one
But after reading MaggieMarley's vampire stories, I might get to sharing mine very soon!
Well you're in luck @MaggieMarley and @kirivian ! I was just about to post the first post of many, many more to come!
Alright it's time to start my vampire tales! I was originally going to start a story thread titled "House (Haus) of the Morning Star" but since I'd never get to making it happen, I can at least share the individual stories surrounding all my vampires. I'll post in batches as well so I can organise all their stories better. To start, I'll focus on some of the major players of this story.
To start, you all know already about Count Vladislaus Straud and Lilith and Caleb Vatore; I haven't changed their appearance and I follow by the Maxis account of their origins so not much has changed in that dept either. Count Vlad still continues to rule over Forgotten Hollow from his hilltop manor (along with his cat, Mayor Whiskers) and the Vatores still live in Wolfsbane Manor, but there are some changes with them all. In my game, Count Vlad currently leads the League of Vampires, or the World Council of Vampires depending on who you ask, and in a way you can consider the Vampire League his "coven" of sorts although he has no actual coven of his own, but asserts significant power and influence over other covens in the League and around the world.
Count Vlad and the Vatores regard their relationship merely as one of mutual disagreement; both siblings prefer drinking from plasma packs and other alternatives instead of Vlad's more forceful and violent means of acquiring plasma, though they respect each other's opinions and generally leave each other be (but sometimes get invites to go to places together). The Vatores are much more different; in my main save, both Caleb and Lilith have completed their aspirations and Caleb has regained his humanity in a spiritual way and enjoys being a food critic, and a representative in the Council. Lilith on the other hand is a master painter, renowned author, and a great pipe organ player and has started her little coven of her own, comprised of her brother and the offspring she turned for her aspiration:
Sara Ramesh, her first offspring and arguably her favorite; the only one of her offspring that currently resides with her as she is grooming her as the heir of the coven. Sara regards Lilith like a mother (or a sister) to her and as the last of her actual family had finally died (her cousin Sai who was fed to his wife's cowplant), Lilith is now the closest thing to a family she has left. She is of course free to leave the house at anytime and plans to talk about moving in with Count Vlad to obtain more vampiric skills and gain more power.
Dillan Kirkland, her second offspring was only but a passing thought that she sought to turn, only because he wouldn't stop knocking on their door during the day, seemingly fascinated with them (and Caleb especially). After he and Caleb became a couple, Lilith sought to turn Dillan into a vampire so that they could stay immortal forever, and after Dillan's mother Juanita passed away, he agreed to let Lilith turn him into one. Now living with a middle-aged Don Lothario in the former Partihaus, he is currently being secretly targeted by bestselling author and fledgling vampire hunter, Andre DaSilva (yes, the same Maxis premade one) for being considered a local threat to his family, his neighborhood, and his community.
Kerry Bruno, her third offspring who was a townie vendor that I liked enough to want to keep around. Kerry had been one of the first vendors when San Myshuno was opened, and as the years passed he began to get older and older. Although Lilith can't eat normal food, she took interest in him and befriended him. On the eve of his birthday before becoming an elder one night, Kerry confided in Lilith about his fear of dying, and as a birthday gift to him, she gave him immortality by way of vampirism. Of course Kerry was ignorant of how vampires worked, and after he turned into one, he thought that he could go back to being a vendor as normal. Of course that was a seriously bad idea and immediately got him out of being a vendor before he burned to a crisp and now shares an apartment with Lilith's latest offspring...
Damon Seitz, her fourth offspring and admittedly one of the harder ones to find and persuade to vampirism, due to not being housed anywhere in the world. Luckily Lilith knew that Damon went to the gym often and stalked him out at her nightly workout sessions. Once he appeared at the gym, Lilith and Damon became gym buddies. Mild-mannered but stubborn, Damon was hesitant at first to pursue a friendship with a known vampire. It took Lilith some time to persuade him due to him having to keep a schedule at his job competing in e-sports, but once there was time to talk about it, he agreed to be turned and shared an apartment with Kerry. That is, until what happened in my main save where he got stuck outside the Perfect Balance Spa and died in the morning sun of Brindleton Bay, to which his grave marker was then taken away by Lilith's last offspring to date...
Sosuke Aizen is her last offspring so far, and boy did she wring in a wild one! Sosuke is the long-lost brother of the current president of SimNation, Tencho Kurosaki, and is highly ambitious, extremely intelligent, and very wicked. Hungry for power, he first tried to curry political favour with his brother Tencho, but although he loved him very much, he would have no more influence in govt than the common citizen. He "retaliated" by binding a voodoo doll to him and torturing him with it, but yet this would not be satisfactory for him. Moving to Windenburg, far away from SimNation, he knew about vampires and it was he who sought Lilith and not the other way around. Of course Lilith was quite eager to rein in a new offspring into the fold to complete her aspiration, and he was given exactly what he wanted...
Now a vampire, he set his grand plan into motion, but not before getting abducted by aliens one night and coming home with an alien abduction baby, his son Grimmjow, which is unknown whether he will inherit hybrid genes or not from him. During the days when he slept, Grimmjow was being taken care of by his live-in nanny, Meredith Fey, who also makes for a great live-in meal as well. Unlike the rest of her offspring, Sosuke doesn't consider himself part of the Vatore coven and considers himself independent. He's been worming his way into Vlad's good graces while he'd been studying vampire lore and upon reaching Master rank and gaining Sun Immunity, he's started a career in organised crime, becoming the very things that his brother had been working to get rid of. Sosuke has been coercing (or manipulating) Vlad into submitting his bid to be a Councillor of the League, but Vlad warns him that there are processes in place that can't allow him to simply make him one, so he'll have to curry favour with the others if he wants to guarantee their votes (I'll get more into detail another day).
Tencho Kurosaki (current President of SimNation but is retiring soon for his term is almost over); I've included him here simply for his minor involvement with vampires, in that as President, he has been working hard to remove both the vampire covens and organised criminal syndicates from influencing the govt. It has never been easy and appears to be a losing battle, and finds himself ever more disappointed at the constant depravity that Sosuke continues to dig himself further into, first becoming a vampire and then involving himself with the Sim Mafia! Let's hope the next president will be any better at controlling the mob and the vamps...
Tencho and Sosuke apart from their other affairs are both members of the old (and rich) Lucious noble family, with Tencho being the current patriarch of the family with his newborn baby boy as the future heir. Both he and his husband Shiro are personally searching for a means to gain immortality for their family without consequences, but that's another story for another time...

So that covers the who's who between Vlad and the Vatores, and I hope you enjoyed reading about them! Stay tuned for my next showcase of vampires soon! The next lot will definitely interest you...
To add, I totally forgot to tell about what Sosuke did with Damon's grave, since he was at the spa when he burned up and died:
Sosuke took it home and placed it outside his cottage, then waited for his ghost to show up one night, and summarily beat up and insult him and generally cause him misery in the afterlife. All for the fun of it! He also regularly laughs at his grave.
@paradiseplanet What a detailed and carefully thought out political engine. I am blown away. This sub-culture as you describe it is very much in line with the type of global underworld culture I am trying to achieve in my neighborhood. I have already re-read this several times and, I hope you do not mind, made adjustments to some of my original plans moving forward. I am inspired by you. Thank You.
I find each of Lilith's offspring interesting and so diverse in nature. Their stories are certainly compelling (those that survive that is - poor Damon :'( - doomed to an eternity of bullying), however I am most engaged by Sosuke (wild one indeed) and Grimmjow (if these hint at inspiration from a certain manga series I would really love to get better insight into them, especially baby Grimmjow - what a wonderful, power- hungry, hedonistic, and self-absorbed figure he would be - love it. If I am mistaken about the reference or if his name is the only legacy you plan for this little guy than I apologize, but I still find his backstory and his father's evil proclivities interesting and just plain old-fashioned fun).
Thank you so much for sharing. I am very excited to read future installments (batches).
@kirivian Sosuke and Grimmjow are inspired by that manga series for sure! I just had to make them related to Tencho due to him sharing a last name with the titular character of said series! I can't say anything about Grimmjow yet, he's far too young for me to develop his personality, but he's an independent tyke and that will set the tone for how he develops once he ages. I figure he'd have a different childhood since his father Sosuke is almost never there for him (either sleeping during the day or off at work doing crime at night) and honestly has a great relationship with nanny Meredith (well, most of the time) than his own father.
I am honoured that I've inspired your stories with my vampiric sub-culture! I'd love to get into more details on how the Vampire League works and how it relates to all of vampire society, but I can't divulge that yet until you've met the rest of the Councillors and other power-players in it as well!
@MaggieMarley Thanks for the compliments. :) (how cool do I feel? :joy:) I do really love making over sims, but so much because I think the sims community is so very talented and creative (not just all y'all here with your beautiful and well-crafted stories and characters, but the cc creators and neighborhood overhaulers and modders - I always feel like. Wow what will they think of next?) and it is their work which allows me my creative outlet in making my sims (they do all the hard work. I just slap it on my sims. LOL). In truth, I do not even have the talent to enhance photos of my sims in an editing program. Seriously. I spend a ton of money to own this program and the best I can do with it is brighten up a shot or resize/crop it - cut and paste. My screenshots are more or less WYSIWYG. I do find myself more invested in individual sims because I spend the amount of time and effort in creating them that I do. Which probably explains why my families are no more than 2nd gen at this point (and I never let them die, or even grow old really - but I confessed to that on a confession board elsewhere on the forums so I think I am absolved).
Thanks to you and @paradiseplanet for explaining about how the hybrids work and again for answering my questions about MCCC in reference to them.
I am sorry I mistook your fantastic legacy (all those generations and each having such unique and wonderful stories) to be a legacy. What I know about legacies is trumped by what I know of Aliens and Ghosts (Although I now know that I am a little jealous of a certain ghost, 'cause I keep going back to Loki - what a looker, Mimsy's a lucky sim indeed - but so is Loki 'cause Mimsy is pretty adorable too. I'm just boi crazy so Loki draws me more.)
About Vlad - he's dead in my game, but his grand-nephew (fabricated relationship) will be taking over his estate and position in my neighborhood and I will definitely be posting more about him and his nephews as my family progresses.
I am hoping that Rick and Christina's child will inspire you to keep playing with and sharing your vampires (because I am selfish and greedy), but even if it doesn't I would love to see what he/she looks like as an adult. Thanks again for sharing and for your discussion here with me. Don't be a stranger, even if you don't have so many vampires in the near future of your game, because you would be missed here.
