Bewitched Legacy Challenge - Rules

https://i.imgur.com/OYkqQVs.png

There’s two ways to play this challenge:

  • without mods – vampires are witches
  • with the “Become a Sorcerer” mod by Triplis on Mod The Sims

------

Vampire Version:
Vampires and Romantic Garden Stuff needed!
Disclaimer: In the following challenge Vampires are called Witches.

The Story:
You’re a witch trying to start her/his own legacy. That’s it? Well, kind of. You create your own story! Are you an orphan witch? A good witch coming from a family of evil witches? Maybe a male witch cast out by your female relatives because they fear your powers? It’s all up to you.

As there are quite a few gameplay rules, I did not want to put up any story restrictions.

The Start:

  • You start on any lot. Choose wisely, as you are not allowed to move later on.
I’ve found that it’s best to choose at least 30x30.
  • You immediately buy the Wishing Well.
  • You use the remaining money to build whatever you want.
  • You’re not allowed to cheat for more money.

The End:
As with most legacies you’re done once your family reaches 10 generations.

------

Succession Laws:

  • Only children born as a vampire are allowed to become the heir. (Vampire = Witch)
  • The heir has to be blood-related to the founder.
  • You can choose the gender law yourself. (e.g. Matriarchy, Patriarchy, etc.)
  • You can choose the heir law yourself. (e.g. First Born, Last Born, etc.)
  • The heir is locked in and becomes Head of the Household when the age up to Young adult.

    ------

    Alignment:

  • Every witch has to have the trait of their alignment. (No matter if they are heir or not.)
Good: Good Trait, Evil: Evil Trait, Neutral: Insane Trait (using two different types of magic messes with your mind!)
  • You are free to choose the alignment of your founder.
  • A witch’s trait is chosen upon aging up into a child. Roll a D6 (die with 6 sides):
    1 and 2: Good
    3 and 4: Evil
    5: Neutral
6: You get to choose the alignment
  • Good witches are not allowed to drink from humans.
  • You are only allowed to choose the skills corresponding to your alignment:

    • Green = Good, Red = Evil, Green and Red = Good and Evil can choose this skill
    • Neutral witches can’t choose skills inside the yellow square.

    Partner Choice:

  • Witches can only have children with the Partner chosen by the wishing well. (Wish for romance)
  • No “Try for baby” with anyone else.
  • It’s up to you when to wish for a partner. (Teenager, Young Adult, Adult)
  • Witches may marry Sims other than their chosen partner but they can’t have children with them.
  • You may only move in chosen partners and primary spouses.

Only for those using MCCC or a different Risky Woohoo mod:
  • If you use MCCC and have Risky Woohoo active, you will need to terminate the pregnancy. While controlling the pregnant sim click on him/her > MC Command Center > MC Pregnancy > End Pregnancy. If the pregnant Sim is an NPC you are allowed to play their household to terminate the pregnancy.
  • If you did not notice a child being born through Risky woohoo, you will have to delete the child as soon as you notice. Use the cheats “testingcheats true” and “cas.fulleditmode” and delete the child through CAS.

Note: If you are already married/have a boyfriend/girlfriend you'll have to break up first to be able to wish for romance.

    ------

    Household:

    Human Children:

  • Traits and Aspiration are determined by a random trait generator.
  • Once you finish your first aspiration you are free to choose the next one.
  • Human children live in the household until they age up to Young Adult.
  • You choose how they are treated based on the alignment of the Head of the Household (not the oldest witch alive!).
  • Upon aging up to Young Adult there’s three different ways to deal with the human children, again, based on the alignment of the Head of the Household. Only exception are the children of the previous generation's heir, in this case the alignment of their parent will decide their fate.

    • Good: The human children simply move out.
    • Evil: You sacrifice the human children to the gods. You add 1000$ to your household for each child you sacrifice, however you have to use that money to make an offering at the wishing well.
    • Neutral: A mixture of both. You decide if a child lives or is sacrificed.
    • Human children that die or are taken away before aging up to Young Adult don’t count as sacrifice.

    Witches:

  • Traits and Aspiration are determined by a random trait generator. Except the first trait from aging up into a child, that is determined by your alignment.
  • Once you finish your first aspiration you are free to choose the next one.
  • Witches have to live in the household until they age up to Young Adult.
  • The heir has to live in the household at all times.
  • You can choose when or if to move out spares.
  • It’s encouraged to move out the retired Head of the Household (and his spouse and/or partner) once a new one steps up. Since Witches live a very long time, your household may get a little too crowded otherwise.

    ------

    Wishing Well:

  • Every witch has to wish for romance.
  • Every Head of the Household gets an additional chance to wish for something else.

    Romance Outcomes:

    • Your “Soulmate/Boyfriend/Girlfriend” appears
    • Your “Enemy with Benefits” appears
    • “Super-pickup line” – Lucky, the gods want you to choose your partner yourself.
    • Ghost Boyfriend/Girlfriend appears – Oh boy, you’ll have to bring them back to life before you can have children.
    • Flirty moodlet/Sad moodlet – Try again.

    What if's:

    • The witch and the chosen partner have the same gender – use the cheats “testingcheats true” and “cas.fulleditmode”, go to CAS and change the partner’s pregnancy setting to the opposite. Using this kind of cheat magic has however drawbacks, the gods will take your first child! When the baby is born immediately age it up to toddler, use the cheats “testingcheats true” and “cas.fulleditmode” and delete the child in CAS.
    • The chosen partner is an elder – same as above, except you age them down to adult in CAS. (I have not had that happen yet)
    • The chosen partner is a ghost and the same gender – Wow, you really hit the bad luck jackpot. You will have to do both, bring them back to life and change their pregnancy setting (including the drawback).

    ------

    Cheats:

    • Cheats are only allowed to be used if the rules specify so.
    • Only exceptions are to change the appearance of a specific Sim and building cheats.

    ------

    Points:
Personally I don't like counting points so I didn't create a system for it. If you want to you can create a system and share it with me :)

its a shame i cant seem to find any gameplay from anyone elses games, id love to see what others have done before starting mine
    • I really love this legacy guideline! I'm going to keep an eye out in case you update for ROM. Really excited to see how this plays out.
    • This sounds awesome, especially with RoM coming out. Since there's three schools I can easily see that working for the challenge. I'll likely do: Mischief = Evil, Practical = Good, Unleashed = Neutral.

Looking forward to seeing an official update to the challenge though!
    • I'm going to do the challenge with RoM anyway, just to see if it can be done. I might make a variation of this one if it works.
