Face plastering is when you plaster a sim head on a human body :)
Simmerizing is a term i use when you paste a sim over a human body (limbs etc)
If you are struggling or need any help at all check out @MizoreYukii 's thread HERE
This might guide you through some of the easy basics of photoshop.
Welcome to the modelling community @EverGreenLife :) <3 xx
And not just a real life human either, plastering over artwork is an even worse offence.
I also want to remind everyone that it's not only the face when face plastering. Adding a torso, stomach, etc. to the edit as well isn't a loophole to make the situation okay. That's how people cheat through fantasy edits, or avant garde, etc., by plastering over the body of another person (or removing the original person entirely) and then adding a stomach or chest, or something else, to make it more "sim". (And note, even if it is not listed in the rules of a comp, it is still a community rule and the assumption is that you will follow it to be fair to your competitors, host, community, and the person/artwork you are attempting to plaster/simmerize on.)
And to cover another term not listed here (for future reference), photo-skinning is when you take pieces of another person (eyes, mouth, tongue, lips, pores, etc.) and place them over your sim (this can include art or real people btw). Edit: Depending on the person, hair is usually not considered to be apart of the photoskinning category. Ask your host before taking hair!
Hope that clears any confusion. :3 Besides the two guides I have up now that mention these, I'll have a proper tutorial up with more information on them later in the year.
