This is an interesting idea, but it seems like a lot of work to implement. I think the biggest question I'd have is how long would it take to complete a house? I assume it would be based on the size of the house, but still how much time are we looking at? Hours? Days? Weeks? An in-game year?
And my fear is that I think something like this has the potential to be glitchy as hell. I can just imagine npc sims standing around and not helping when they should be or food from the party idea being left on the ground and rotting. I wouldn't want something like this implemented unless it had very detailed programming to ensure as few issues as possible. And sadly, the game is already riddled with bugs and glitches.
A construction career is one I'd like, though not necessarily as an active career.
