Silver Valley Orphans

This thread is to share the stories of the young Sims in my games who were left orphans due to the neighborhood stories accidental deaths or their parents dying of old age.

The idea of giving lives to the 'Orphaned Sims' in my games started in my main game save, 'Valley Variety' where I play a mixture of old and new households including some of the descendant households of my original households along with Sims from my  'Alphabet' sim series (most of which you can find in my gallery) but just giving them a regular  Sim life and some new random and former 'scenario' Sims that didn't get much of a life before taking a break from the game for a few years.

Anyways, getting back to the poor orphans in my game, when looking through the 'other households' in 'Manage households', I noticed that there were some with just an infant, child or teenager but with no parent.  In Valley Variety there were many of them at first due to the 'accidental deaths' even with the regular Sims in the game.  I felt sorry for these orphans and decided to give them new lives and parents especially for the 'infants and children'.  To create new parents for them I usually use the 'genetic' option CAS to make an aunt or uncle for the orphans to adopt the child.  As part of my 'Randomly Coordinated, As-It-Happens style play, I use my dice method to decide whether their new parent come single, married, in a partner relationship and/or have a child of their own.

For the teens, I just add them to my active households and become their guide since teens can live on their own.  I don't do this for every orphan teen but some of them were from the regular Sim households like The Roswell's daughter, Katie who was and is still a teenager when her parents died of old age.  She is now living in Glimmerbrook in a house I built for her while she finishes high school strives to become a 'Purveyor of Potions'.   That way her family name can live on along with my other orphan teen households.  I will introduce these households as they come up in my game rotation.

Notes

About three months ago, I decided to create a new thread for my Sims 4 households called  Silver Variety Stories.  For awhile I was able to post introductions, back stories and current photos of some of my households with help from in getting used to the new forum setup.  During the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to post in the thread for some reason.   Since I've been thinking creating threads for each of my three  game saves and  one for the Orphan households, I've decided to do just that.  Hopefully I'll be able to transfer or copy my previous  posts to their respective new threads or at least the stories that I was unable to post in the past couple of weeks.

  • A NEW FAMILY FOR YOUNG VEER CHANDRAN

Veer is a young child who was left an orphan when his father, Kabir tragically passed away in a fire that broke out in the rooming house they lived in while looking for their forever home.  Thankfully Kadir had a younger brother, Tim who had been back in their home country of Simindia (aka India) but had recently emigrated to the desert town of Oasis Springs with his wife, Britney and their young daughter, Neveah who was a toddler at the time.  After attending the memorial service for his brother, Tim and his wife adopted Veer as their own so that he would be raised by family and grow up with a new sister.

Shortly after adopting Veer, Tim had a new farmhouse/garden style home built for them on a nice lot in one of the more upscale neighborhoods in Oasis Springs that has good schools so that their children could get a good education.  Although Veer has been through a lot in a young age, he has not let that get him down and shows a lot of self confidence in everything he does.  He is already an A student and is working on his childhood dream of becoming an Artistic Prodigy

Veer’s new father, Tim has joined the astronaut career since he loves anything to do with rocket science which will also help with his desires of becoming a Nerd Brain which goes with his ‘geek’ personality.  Tim is also a ‘maker’ and hopes to fill his basement hobby room with items that he can make and sell his creations or add them to his home décor.  One thing you won’t find Tim doing is ‘fishing’ due to his ‘squeamish’  personality.  Cleaning up messes are enough to make him uncomfortable.   Before Veer came into his life, Tim met Britney at a Humor and Hijinks festival where she was part of the prankster and was drawn to her royal blue dyed hair.  They chatted while eating food at the festival and despite her ‘evil’ ways he fell in love with Britney,  and it wasn’t long before they were married and welcomed a baby girl into the world whom they named, Neveah.  Little Neveah is now cute toddler but is very fussy and always wants her way and gives her ‘Super Parent’ want-a-be a run for her money while taking her frustrations out on her poor brother, Veer.  Hopefully she’ outgrow this phase when she starts school.

Here ae some photos of Veer, Tim, Britney and his little sister, Neveah.  Will share photos of the Chandran family home in Veer's next update.

  • Hi Everyone,

Hope you're all having a Top-Notch Thursday!  Today I'm sharing the story of another young Sim who was left an orphan due to the untimely accidental death of her mother.

     AKSHARA’S STORY

Akshara was raised by her birth mother, Anaya and had never really known her father as he was somewhat a drifter in life and didn’t want to stay in one place for long.  Apparently, Akshara’s father left Anaya and his daughter when she was just a toddler to follow his dreams and never looked back.  Anaya did her best to raise Akshara and provide for all her needs by working as a botanist in a local exotic plant nursery.  One of Anaya’s jobs was to tend to the cow plants that were housed in a special room at the nursery.  Although Anaya was always careful when tending to these vicious plants, one of the cow plants grabbed her while she was tending to the plant.  Anaya fought hard to free herself but was no match for the extremely hungry plant who ate her up leaving Akshara alone to fend for herself, who by this time had recently started school.

In the days after her mother’s tragic death,  Akshara would spend a lot of time at the local animal shelter playing with the puppies and helping the shelter workers feed and clean the animal pens to earn a little cash for clothes and other things she would need while living at the orphanage until a new family could be found for her.  Thankfully Akshara didn’t have to wait longer for a new mother as the social workers were able to locate her mother’s younger sister, Jennifer who is a local police officer in the Detective career.  Jennifer was more than happy to adopt her niece and used the money she had been saving from her career and other jobs from over the years to build a cute farmhouse style home for he and Akshara to live in.

While in grade school, Akshara wants to become a ‘Slumber Party Animal’ and because of her love for dogs, she wants to adopt one from the shelter.  Jennifer has made a deal with her daughter that if she earns an A in school then Akshara could get a dog.  As for Jennifer, she is pursuing her dream of becoming a ‘Computer Whiz’ while working as a detective.  As a lover of music, Jennifer is looking to have an any area in the family’s future basement hobby area for the various music instruments she wants to learn how to play.  Since Jennifer is a slob, Akshara is the one who generally picks up the clothes her new mother leaves on the floor and puts the dishes in the dishwasher, but she doesn't mind as she is thankful to have Jennifer as her new mother.  Akshara hopes that someday, Jennifer will meet and fall in love with  the right man and gain a new father. Meanwhile, Jennifer hopes that her ears will survive Akshara's 'LOUD' childhood and teenage years phase.

Here are some candid photos taken during Jennifer & Akshara's first week in their new Tartosa home.  These photos include special family moments like having  a water balloon fight  together on Summer Fun Day (one of the extra holidays I created, Jennifer getting a bite to eat, Jennifer playing on her laptop and on-the-job photos of Jennifer at the local police station.  There are also photos of Akshara meeting one of her new friends, Courtney Richards who had been adopted by Gavin Richards who lives in Oasis Springs.  At the end of the first week of Jennifer and Akshara's first week in their new home they had a visit from vampire Vladislaus Straud

    Thanks Bree,

Welcome to my thread BreeMiles and thanks for being the first to visit my "Orphans'

I've also posted build and pictures of my Sims in your thread from the link in Rosemow's thread.  Since I got the highlight for my Orphans I've been debating on whether or not to move them to their own game save.  That way I would have a game save for each of my forum threads.

Question is there a way to transfer posts from another thread as many of my "Orphans' tare in my main game save, Valley Ventures and would like to have all their stories in this thread.

Hope you're having a Splendid Saturday,

    SilverJan

  • Hello and welcome back to another Valley Orphan story.  This time with a teenager named, Coal.  Hope you all enjoy the story I made up for him followed by a few candid picture of his last few days of autumn.

    COAL’S JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE

Poor Coal had a rough start in life when his mother became homeless before he was born due to some unforeseen circumstances in her life when his father abandoned the family and left them penniless.  Despite being pregnant with Coal, his mother did her best to pay the bills but eventually her money ran out and she ended up being evicted from her apartment and forced to live on the streets before Coal was born.  Since Coal was too young to know his mother’s name, we will call her Jane Doe.  Jane had a hard time finding employment except from some low paying odd jobs which were barely enough to keep her and her infant son nourished as they lived under a cardboard box in one of San Myshuno’s back alleys.   Jane always made sure she could feed little Coal but most of the time there was barely enough food for herself which caused her to go hungry most days which led to many health issues but with no money to seek help.

On an extremely cold night in the middle of winter Jane froze to death while making sure that little Coal was kept warm by the only blanket she owned.  Coal was too young at the time to know his mother’s name but over time the investigators were able to glean enough information to determine what had happened to Jane Doe, whose frozen body was found next to her infant son who was found alive under the blanket next to her.  Little Coal was taken to the local orphanage when his father could not be located where he was well cared for during his early childhood and grade school years.   Due to the overwhelming number of young orphans,  Social workers give teenagers an opportunity to move out on their own and are given the funds necessary to find a starter home for themselves after teaching them the necessary life skills they need.  Coal decided to take them up offer.   His social worker was able to find a nice starter home for him in Copperdale where Coal would be near the high school he would attend.

Fast forward to today, Coal is doing well in school and has made many friends and is now recognized for having a ‘pristine’ reputation.  In addition to his studies, Coal was a member of the high school drama club until getting a job in retail that would help him complete his teenage dream of being ‘Goal-Orientated.   Coal grew up loving vegetables and enjoyed his ‘maker’ skills to create things that he could sell for extra spending money while he was in the orphanage which he hopes to continue after graduating from high school.  Due to being left an orphan so young, Coal has fears of being alone, cheated on and failing tests.  After acing his most recent high school exams, Coal has more confidence in taking tests but is not quite over his fear but that will come over time along with the other fears that he has.

Now for some candid photos from the second half of autumn in Copperdale.

Coal loves to dance  to unwind from school or working at his part-time job in retail.

During the Harvestfest holiday, Coal enjoyed a nice date with his high school romantic partner, Ann Pleasant who, along with her brother, Tyrone are also part of the Valley Orphan households but will save their story for my next visit with them.  While Coal and Ann have enjoyed a few romantic moments, they have decided to just be best friends for the remainder of their High School years and save the more personal stuff for when they grow up.  Coal and Ann also enjoyed  attending the prom together as 'good friends' .

After studying hard for his exam,  Coal is confidentially writing down his answers and passed with flying colors.  Hopefully this will diminish his fear of 'failing tests' after he didn't pass his previous exam.

Coal was vote  King at the fall prom  in Copperdale, while one of his best friends, Ryo (below) was the prom's Jester.  Ryo will tell his orphan story in my next visit with his family.

This is Paris Phong and although she's not part of my stories I'm sharing a bit of her story.  She was adopted as a young child by one of the robot sims in Valley Ventures who lived next door to Kaiden Haas while growing up.  Paris and her father have since moved out and we'll see if they find a new place to call home.

Will leave you with this picture of Kaiden Haas after writing his exam.

That's all for now and hope that you're all having a Fantastic Friday!

  • Here is another story from another Valley Orphan:  Katie Roswell  who is eager to tell her story.

    KATIE’S STORY

Hello and welcome to my humble home in the magical forest community of Glimmerbrook where you will find spellcasters like myself coming and going from hidden Magic Realm lot where we learn everything there is to know about our chosen lot in life.  Now that the winter season has come and almost gone with the annual Winterfest and New Year’s Eve festivities are over, I thought it would be a good time to tell my story.

I was born in a weird, military town called Strangerville to one of the town’s founding couples, Ted and Meredith Roswell, who kept getting infected with the town’s strange illness that causes them to walk in a strange and exaggerated jerky way and lost the ability to speak coherently.  Apparently, this is caused by a strange fruit that grows in the desert areas of Strangerville and if someone eats something that is cooked or baked with this fruit.  Thankfully the side effects of this  illness wear off after awhile and those infected can walk and talk normally again.  There were times when I unknowingly ate something that had been contaminated with this strange fruit since once it’s added to a recipe and cooked, it doesn’t look or any different than other breads or sauces and is odorless.  The best way to describe it is that the food looks delicious but turns out to be ‘the wolf in sheep clothing’ scenario.  I was fooled a few times and ate something that didn’t agree with me.

After experiencing adverse effects from consuming the fruit, my parents decided to relocate to Willow Creek and purchased Eric Lewis’s former residence during my teenage years.   By that time, my parents were in their senior years and sadly passed away not long after starting high school.  Thankfully, my parents left me with enough inheritance that I was able to have a starter home built for me in Glimmerbrook with a small stable for my dream of owning a horse someday.  Growing up as an only child gave my lots of time to play fantasy video games and with the action figure dolls while watching my favorite TV shows like Casper Ghost and Wendy the Good Witch and Sabrina Sim which made me dream of becoming a Purveyor of Potions.

Having a nice roof over my head and a bed to sleep in gave me confidence and assurance (self-assured) to accomplish anything I put my mind to like getting straight As in high school which allowed me to graduate early.  I celebrated  my young adult birthday with friends on the day before New Year’s Eve.  New Year’s Eve was spent  meeting new friends in Henford-on-Bagley, watching the countdown to the new year, completing my resolution of increasing one of my skills and landing a new job in the world of business that will start bright and early Monday morning as spring gets under way in Glimmerbrook.  Hopefully I’ll be able to adopt the horse of my dreams.  In the meantime, please enjoy photos taken during the winter season of snow and fun including my birthday party.

Katie was invited by her good friend, Juliette Lorford to meet some celebrities in Del Sol Valley during Winterfest.

After returning home from the Celebrity-Meet-and-Greet, Katie had more friends stop by including Juliette's father, Orson Lorford on the right who is a great grandson of my original Simself, Jan Tedford and one of her alien grandson Louis's sons.  He lives with his wife, Teulia and six of his seven children and will tell his story in my Valley Ventures thread.

Katie meeting Father Winterfest who stopped by during his holiday rounds.  He gave Katie a nice new fridge for her Winterfest gift.

Welcome to Katie's birthday party where everyone was having so much fun, that a dust bunny decided to attend as well.

Here are some of the guests who are part of my active households in Valley Ventures along with more or Katie's good friends.  Ann Pleasant who will be in the Valley Orphan story with her older brother, Tyrone who was still a teenage when their mother, Angela passed away of old age.  Luna Villareal, Juliette Lorford and Elaina Engle.  Ignore the mess as Maxwell Lorford was catering Katie's party.   Ignore the mess as Katie's caterer for the evening, Maxwell Lorford was trying to make too many cakes at once.

Katie blowing out her birthday candles with Maxwell, Juliette and Luna cheering her on.

Maxwell taking a break after an evening of cooking for Katie's birthday party.

Will leave you with Katie's young adult picture of her getting her new clothes and hairstyle.  Along with being a Self-Assured Horse Lover, Katie is also Romantic Reserved and has decided not to rush into a relationship but is waiting for the right Sim to sweep her off her feet.  In the meantime, Katie enjoys making new friends with her 'Pristine Relationship' and will focus on her magical dreams and business career.

That's all for now and have a great night!

Happy young adult birthday to Katie! 🎂She is a lovely lady. It is great that her Birthday party went well and her guests enjoyed attending it. It is lovely photo of them all helping her to celebrate as she blows out the candles on her birthday cake.
It was great that she was given a fridge by Father Winter for Winterfest 🙂
It was a good idea for her family to leave Strangerville!

  • Hi Everyone

Hope you're all having Wonderful Week and welcome back for another Valley Orphan story this time featuring siblings Tyrone and Ann Pleasant who were adopted by Angela Pleasant over the course of her life in the university town of Britechester.  Here's their story followed by photos taken during the spring season in Valley Ventures.

    TYRONE & ANN’S STORY

Prior to adopting Tyrone, Angela Pleasant lived with her sister, Lilith who was the proverbial black sheep of the family with her dastardly, kleptomaniac ways and was always making enemies with many Sims.  Although they were siblings Angela’s relationship with her was difficult and was no closer than acquaintances during their lifetime of living together.  Despite the fact that  their parents were long gone and having a difficult relationship with her sister, Angela was able to make a life for herself by making many friends outside the house and focusing on her dream of becoming an ‘Extraordinaire Painter.  As life went on, Angela decided that she wanted to have a small family and during her mid adult life years she adopted an infant boy from the local orphanage by the name of Tyrone whose young mother had recently given him up for adoption since she could not afford to give him the life he deserved.

By all accounts, Tyrone and his mother had a great relationship with lots of humor which resulted in him becoming quite the ‘goofball’ at a young age.  While Angela was busy painting, Tyrone developed a love for reading books and became the ‘bookworm’ of the family.  Once he started high school, Tyrone decided that he wanted to become a Master Actor someday and star in TV shows and movies that where based on the western and romance novels he read while growing up.  Not long after reaching her senior years, Angela decided to expand her little family by adopting a young girl by the name of Ann who had lost her parents in a tragic house fire that was caused when an ember from their fireplace somehow ended up on the carpet when her father was adding a log to fire on a cold winter night.   Ann was one of those ‘squeamish’ little girls who hated things that were creepy, crawly, messy and slimy like frogs, dead fish and spoiled food.  Although he tried to protect Ann as much as possible from kids making fun of her ‘squeamish’ ways, Tyrone could not always be there for her in grade school when the boys continued to torment Ann by leaving frogs and other critters in her locker and desk once he entered Copperdale High.  Ann became somewhat of a ‘loner’ in grade school by spending much of her time avoiding the classroom brats but has been able to come out of her shell in high school where the students seem to be more mature and has been able to make some good friends including Coal Moore, Maxwell Lorford and Elaina Engle who try to make sure that no one gets bullied at school.

Shortly before Ann reached adolescence, Angela passed away due to age-related causes, leaving Tyrone responsible for caring for his younger sister while he was still attending high school.   Since Tyrone was old enough to take care of his sister, their social worker decided to let them stay at home instead of separating the two siblings by returning Ann to the orphanage.  To provide for his little sister, Tyrone decided to buckle down and study  hard so that he could graduate with honors and start his acting career.  Fortunately, Tyrone was able to find an acting agency that would allow him to star in commercials and TV shows that would all him to work while Ann was in school and that he would be home to help her with homework and her needs in the evenings.  Ann has blossomed during her high school and has earned straight As and was awarded an early graduation due to her high grades.  She is looking forward to celebrating her young adult birthday during your next visit.

The first day of Spring in Britechester and San Myshuno was sunny but cool.  One of Tyrone's friends invited him to the Flea Market to help him find something for his home.  Here, Tyrone is chatting with one of the vendors.  Below Tyrone was surprised to see his friend,  Vivian Fancey enjoying a hot bowl of pho who was also a  vendor that day.  You'll meet her another time.

After having to sign up with the Everyday Extras Talent Agency again, he auditioned and won the role of the lead spokesperson for one of the brand name guitars used in the film industry.  Here he's getting to know one of the background actors.

Tyrone's  Risky play moves in each of the commercial segments won him a gold star review.

Later that day, Tyrone enjoyed meeting new friends during 'Alien Night' at the Salty Paws Saloon in Brindleton Bay.

Later that week, Ann (far right) enjoyed an evening with some of the members of her Upper Crusts club and fellow Valley Venture sims including (left to right), Felix Patton, Daisy Collier with Maxwell Lorford and Jeff Fancey with their backs turned.

Ann enjoying herself as she does the country style dance at the bar in Chestnut Ridge.  (Looks like the mouse caught her outline).  Although she considers herself a 'loner', Ann still enjoys getting out with friends and making new ones. Overtime Ann has earned the 'Pristine' reputation and maybe as she grows older, Ann will learn new things about herself and be able to leave her 'loner' days behind.

While Phoenix Dawkins (right) seems to have aced her exams,  Ann struggled while writing hers but because she's a straight A student, Ann was still offered and accepted the opportunity to graduate early since she will be celebrating her birthday during my next visit with the Pleasant siblings.

Tyrone enjoying some time with his former high school sweetheart, Elaina Engle and hopes that they can rekindle their relationship after Elaina graduates and becomes a young adult in the near future.

Will leave you with a couple of pictures from her last prom where her good friend, London Lorford was voted to be Prom Queen while Kal C,M Hueso (one of the local skeleton teens) was named Prom Jester.  Good name for a skeleton, though.  The sim in the middle is Copperdale High's principal.

Until we meet again, have a great night!
