Let EACH DORM choose their own MASCOT
and the option to toggle off all mascots, and not be forced to have sims live on campus.
In Australia, we call dormitories 'colleges'.
In Australia we also call private schools "collages", and also specialised fields of study at uni are also "colleges". And senior schools are often called "colleges"
I attended a Uni that had 7 colleges, and each had a fierce rivalry when it came to sports, academcis, clubs etc)
How odd. I've not heard of aussie colleges like that.
Most of the ones I know of are just overpriced housing for international and rural students.
Dorms could be a bit like the Club system in Get Together: Choose Mascot, let us set up who are our Dorms friends and who are the foes.
I'd rather university clubs use the club system, since they're clubs.
Also, again, toggles for mascots. I don't want them forced into my game. They should be optional, not forced.
Give us banners, and other deco items to establish a type of Dorm Patriotism. Have each dorm member react when they come across another student from a different dorm, eg, the Racoons HATE the Panda Bears and fight every time they see each other.
Of course, lots more jeering and sledging should be added to the mean socials. Some 'Jeer Together as team' would be good, sort of like the group dancing, but it's 'group harrassment.'
I'm sorry, but the Kangaroos are going to beat you ALL at cricket. Get over it. You're not going to win.
Physical pranks are ESSENTIAL, including stealing another dorm's mascot statue.
Oh come now, surely you can come up with some better pranks.
Engineering students are usually geniuses, and Prosh day is important.

They also managed to put a car in an elevator, cos they're classy like that.
Also, include a RENTAL system we can build just a regular house and have room-mates we have no control over (NPC's). (I lived in College for the first three years of my degree, then rented an apartment for the final year - would be good to have different kind of residential options available to us, yes including study-from-home in any world. Where you live definitely gives you a different kind of Uni experience).
90% of my uni attending friends lived at home for their first year or two of uni, and then moved into share housing of some form.
MUST HAVE SPORTS! What's a University without experiencing Sports.
South Australian?
Sports aren't a big deal here. Academics are.
That said, cricket needs to be added to the game. Any sport that is not cricket is just not cricket.
New Venue: Sports Field. Place Soccer Nets, Baseball Nets, Basketball Court, Track and Field (for sims to jog around, even a hurdle for them to, you know, hurdle over).
Cricket pitch, cricket field, and cricket nets. Nothing else is needed, as nothing else is cricket. :P
Cheerleading Skill:
And the ability to toggle the pests off. I hated them in previous versions. I get that some people want them, which is why rather than just whining that I don't want them, and therefore you shouldn't get them, I'd rather just ask for the option for toggles to remove unwanted themes from my game.

not everyone in Australia has your type of college
I can speak for myself.
As stated, there are multiple meaning of 'college' in Australia.
doesn't like the sports idea
Don't put words in my mouth. I like the idea of cricket being added, and cricket is a sport.
But what I would prefer, is the option to toggle sports off.
cheerleading his post-secondary school didn't have them
I know of no schools, nor any universities, nor colleges who offer cheerleading. It might exist in Queensland, but that's about as far from me as Italy is from Poland. Queenslanders are a weird bunch, they don't even play AFL, the national winter sport... then again, they don't exactly have winter either.
