I wouldn't want it because I want to determine that. If I want my vampires to live in a cramped trailer so be it. They might be happy they escaped from the vampire lord and have a place to themselves in my story. This is one of those opt in or out possibilities to me at most, or something that could be trait based.
When I played the first Sims I didn't enjoy this aspect of the game. It ranked up there with being a fill their needs and time management based game. I was trying my hardest but they still had a poor room score until they are basically rich. If they had a dog poop at the far end of the lot with the walls up, it also affected the score. Yeah, that's a no from me.
Now I wouldn't mind if the nicely decorated happy score were lowered a bit... it's still pretty overpowering.
