I’ve tried everything people have suggested and still I keep getting white ceilings in my basements. It’s not a mod or cc issue as before the update I took my mods out and I have no cc. Also I haven’t put the mods back into my game yet as they were career mods for a different household. Maybe it’s a bug for me.
Something's going on, but I'm not sure whether it's technically a bug or whether it's more of a build mode limitation. I placed a ceiling directly on top of a basement room (not on the floating "false ceiling" above the basement), and the ceiling did show up in live mode when I looked up at it from inside the room. But it
doesn't show up when you look up at it from inside the room in build mode.
I think part of the problem is that when you're in build mode and zoom into the room as close as you can, the camera seems to be at the same level as the ceiling. That's as far into the room as you can get. When I try to look up and see the ceiling, I can only see the saucer lights floating at my eye level (and the floating "false ceiling" above me), so the camera must be on the same plane as the ceiling I'm trying to see. However, in live mode, the camera can drop lower and
then I can see the ceiling when I look up.
What I'm not sure about yet is whether the height of the basement walls makes any difference. My basement walls are at the lowest height. I'm curious whether anyone with higher basement walls is encountering the same issue.
