Trans MTF Sim need

I have a special wish I'd like to see in base game. I have a trans mtf Sim who wants to fully transition. But there's no way for her to undergo surgery! We really need a way to embiggen the male sim chest the same way we embiggen the female sim's chest/bust. Also, when giving the male sims a wider chest, the collar bone eats necklaces.
The male sims can easily wear female clothing but female sims can't wear male clothing without it looking horrible. The breastal area of male clothing doesn't have enough polys to make is smooth - this is all male tops on a female sim. That area really could have been tessellated for a smoother and more pleasing aesthetic.

Also, male sims have access to the missing Spa Day nails that female sims lost. When creating a female sim, even if you filter the fashion choice to masculine, those nails don't show up for females. I'm lucky that my gorgeous trans sim at can have beautiful nails, even if my cis female sims can't.

In conclusion ... we need more inclusion!

  • There are several omissions related to the gender update. It is understandable to a certain extent, considering it was something implemented on the fly as a free update, it has been some time without correcting them. Here are some more that I have noticed:

    - Hairstyle options correspond to the original gender, ignoring the chosen preference.
    - There are no options to change mannerisms.
    - Sims can only interact with mannequins of their original gender, regardless of the chosen preferences.
    - Clothing; it is evident when a garment was originally available for both genders, and when the restriction was simply removed. Textures were not reworked, so some look strange.
    - There should be options to lock certain aspects you want to keep when changing gender.
  • Forgive me for asking this, but since the trans sim is transitioning to the other gender, shouldn’t they become the other gender on the outside as they are on the inside? There are different types of female bodies to choose from, as you know. Not all of them are super feminine physically, if that’s the issue, but it would give you the option of the female chest. And anyway while sure there are differences between the male and female form, hormone treatment does a lot. I know your gameplay is your own, and I don’t know what your perspective is rooted in, but I have a couple of trans people in my family and I just think that a transition is a transition, the outside now matches their inside. Just a thought.
  • Well, I am androgynous, as well as the majority of my Sims, but... if they are male (you know, under their clothes), I use one of the male bodies and make them look the way I want them to, same goes for androgynous females. So I don't get this... a male-to-female person is female, right? So why not use a female body and create her the way she is supposed to look?

Most everyone I know is trans or gender fluid. Yes, they were physically born a certain way but they are expressing their true self via hormones or clothes, hair, whatever they find works for them.
I want to do that with my Sim. She's worked hard to become the woman she is with me as her hormone provider, but without top surgery, she's never going to fully transition.

Our female sims can wear "male" clothing which looks horrible because whoever altered the meshes didn't tesselate the chest so it's blocky and ugly.
Our male sims can wear "female" clothing and it looks okay. Playing FTM is okay since I can alter the chest as if they're post-op.

Speaking of which - we have surgery scars but no top scar. I'd like to see that represented. Obviously we can't address bottom surgery since we're all genderless down there.

For those saying to just use a female sim for my trans fem, that's just not going to work for me.

I haven't had a problem with hairstyles. I just filter for female when changing her hair.
You can edit traits in CAS with the cheat (can I post cheats here?)
    TESTINGCHEATS TRUE
    CAS.FULLEDITMODE
    That's what I do when editing a sim's appearance.
I didn't know about the mannequin thing. That need to change!
    Clothing. Yeah.
I don't know what you mean by aspects you want to lock. I'd love to learn!

In conclusion, WHERE ARE MY SPA DAY FINGERNAILS that female sims used to have?????
Thankfully my trans sim can wear them. But if I go ftm and use a female sim (which I'm planning) those nails are not available.
This has been a pet peeve of mine since they were the ONLY nails I used.

  • As someone involved in that topic, I absolutely don't get what you want here. You want to play a female Sim (one who wants to be female as well) but reject using a female or even androgynous female body, even reject adjusting it? I am very sure, that at least most of the trans persons would be very happy if their body looks the way they want it to look, fitting to their actual gender. I also know that a lot of trans persons find it very traumatizing when their body looks exactly the opposite way and I also think they don't want to be remembered that they were born in a wrong body.

But hey, it's your game, so have fun.

By the way; editing traits with full edit mode does not work that well. You can remove the trait, but in-game moodlets belonging to that trait still appear once in a while.
  • I'm more into playing Ace or Straight in my game. However I do so agree @The_Mercuria that the male clothing should also fit better with the female sims. I wish the pretty feminine "Menswear Kit" outfits could look great on lady sims. Oh, well. :'(

In my game, I have a character who is gender neutral and ace. They are a thin, masculine framed sim and they dress in a soft masculine style with a lot of feminine touches. There are a lot of female tops in CAS that I would love to use with them, but most of them add a bust shadow, which absolutely does not work. It would be nice if blouses could be worn on a masculine frame without creating a chest that the sim doesn’t have.

  • Yes, I also agree, it would be nice if the dresses would work good for all genders in the same way.

@cyncie My most important character is as well a very thin masculine framed Sim who looks very androgynous. I posted a pic of him in the Goth Galore thread. But to be honest, almost all of my male sims look kind of that way. They are androgynous in my stories but they consider themselves as males or females, so I don't use "they / them" pronouns for my characters.
  • I'm not sure this is exactly on topic, but this thread reminded me of a cheat you can use to just add or remove a breast from your sim (without affecting the rest of the frame), which are "traits.equip_trait trait_Breasts_ForceOn" and "traits.equip_trait trait_Breasts_ForceOff".

This video explains quite well how to use it. I haven't used it in a while, I hope it still works...
