Ultimate Decades Challenge - Day 32 - Year 1307 - Updated Nov. 17
Hello! Follow along with me as I play Morbid's Ultimate Decades Challenge! The challenge begins in the year 1300 and goes all the way through history to the present day.
We will follow Thomas Farvale, 16, living with his parents, Caitlin and Edward Farvale. He has two older sisters. Anna (20) and Elizabeth (18) who are both married.

I have updated Henford-on-Bagley to look medieval, as well as a few other worlds. I used a combination of some builds from DivanTheSimmer's Medieval Save and SnarkyWitch's Medieval Henford-on-Bagley. I also am using quite a few mods, but that's totally not necessary in order to do this challenge. :)
Caitlin and Edward left in a carriage for Windenburg the previous evening and just in time too; the baby came early that morning. Both mother and baby did great. The two of them thought together for a long moment, saying different names and just cooing at the new addition to their family.
Finally, Richard suggested, “Maren? Maren Sherwood.”

He did the chores; taking care of Goldie, the gardening, and scaring the foxes away. That was especially important now that Goldie was laying eggs. He ate breakfast and planned to go to the cottage on Nettle Lane where Benjamin and Kimberly lived; there he would ask Benjamin if he could marry his daughter. But what if he said no? Thomas couldn’t think of it… https://i.ibb.co/whV0CtC/10-20-23-9-01-34-PM.png

He arrived to their cottage. It was bigger than his own he noted regrettably. What if Kimberly wouldn’t want to marry him when she saw how small his cottage was?

“Sir, there’s something I’d like to ask you.”
Benjamin nodded and led him into the living space and they sat down. It seemed that Benjamin may have had an idea of what it was Thomas wanted to ask him.
Thomas gathered his courage. “It is my wish to marry your daughter. I don’t have a lot of money, but I have been successful so far in selling my art. I believe I can provide a comfortable home for her, if you would allow it.” https://i.ibb.co/TYw21Lt/10-20-23-9-15-04-PM.png
Bemjamin sighed. “I knew this day would come. I knew it would be soon; I could see it on her face. She’s been smiling a lot more and singing again.”
“Again?” Thomas asked.
Benjamin smiled a sad smile. “Yes. We lost her mother to illness and ever since then she’s been more withdrawn. It was hard on her losing her mother, but despite that she’s grown into a fine young woman. I would have hoped for her to be a little more financially secure, but her happiness is worth more than I could give right now. For you to be her husband means that you will put her happiness above your own. That’s what it means to be a husband. Will you do that for her?”

Benjamin got up and called Kimberly into the room.
“Do you wish to marry this young man? Is that what you want?"
“Yes, father, it is.”

Thomas had some preparations to make for the wedding, which would be the next morning at the church in Finchwick. First, he had to visit his family in Windenburg. A carriage sent by Richard came for him and picked him up and he arrived later that afternoon.
He informed his parents of his engagement and that the wedding would take place at the Cobblebottom Church in the morning. His parents were proud that he was able to afford a wedding in the church. It was all thanks to his hard work.

“Thank you.” It meant a lot to him that his family would all be there.

“Oh, yes, she is! She is the perfect horse for you, my dear.”
“Thank you, darling. Traveling will be much easier now. And, I have some news from your brother. We are to attend Thomas’s wedding tomorrow morning! We can travel there on horseback.”

The cottage was ready to welcome home his bride tomorrow. Finally, he put together a bouquet of daisies for his bride to be.

Thomas arrived at the church the next morning wearing the finest clothes he owned. His shirt complemented the light blue of Kimberly’s dress. Thomas thought she was breathtaking in her dress and veil. https://i.ibb.co/ZY2hw7y/10-21-23-9-59-43-PM.png
He handed her the daisies and she was absolutely beaming. “Thomas, you’ve thought of everything! They are beautiful.”

Beautiful pose of Richard, Anna and their new baby, Maren Sherwood. I am glad they are all okay. And Thomas' parents look so happy with their new grandchild. John's new horse is cute, and glad that they could travel on horseback to the wedding. (I wish that you could have two riders on one horse in the game, but we can just imagine it). Thomas then went to see Kimberly's father, Benjamin. And, of course he was worried when he saw that their cottage was bigger than his little house. He probably thought that Benjamin would think he was not worthy. But just the opposite, Benjamin sees that Kimberly is happy and singing again because of Thomas, and gives them his blessing. Ahh....Thomas really does make Kimberly happy. :) And he proposes and they are getting married the next day! Yes! And then he is off to visit his sister to see their new baby in Windenburg and tells everyone the exciting news. Thomas fixed up the cottage nicely and made a bouquet of daisies for his bride-to-be. Nice touch.
Kimberly is such a pretty bride. Oh my, his mother crying as she walks down the aisle. She is probably remembering her own wedding. That spousal kiss is "hot" lol Thomas...woot! Beautiful ceremony. The church lot that you picked is really nice and has an outdoor area to eat. And they head to their new home together...and Thomas...oh my...you are quite passionate today with Kimberly. Nice wedding gifts...and...of course, giving her back the rose he grew in the garden. And, it's honeymoon time! Oh and from the spoiler, let's hope that Kimberly is, indeed, expecting.
Did you build that church yourself? It was really nice. Great chapters. Loved them, and now Thomas is wed to Kimberly, and their life begins together :)
@SoulGal7 Thank you for your nice comments. :) No, I didn't build the church, I just forgot to credit it. I'll have to do that next time. Some parts of the church aren't very medieval, but hopefully it's not too noticable.
Congrats to Anna and Richard! Congrats to Thomas and Kimberly as well! Maren is the perfect name. Glad to see Thomas is fixing up the house! I'm also glad Kimberly's father said yes. Ballad and Sebastian are such pretty horses. What a beautiful wedding! A baby on the way already? I can't wait to find out! I love Benjamin's face in that last pic!
I ended up redoing the inside of their cottage. From what I can tell, peasant homes in the middle ages were generally one large room instead of having dedicated spaces for bathrooms and bedrooms. Even the animals lived inside with them. However, all Thomas and Kimberly have are 2 chickens, so they will just stay outside. They did get this large stone larder from Kimberly's father and I'm not sure how I feel about it now. It's basically a refrigerator, which is technically against the rules of the challenge, but it's not like they had absolutely no ways of preserving food back then. So I'm keeping it for now.

Kimberly wanted to come along, as she was accustomed to helping the townsfolk by running errands while her father did work in town. "Sometimes traveling artists come through with their galleries," Simon explained, "I will let you know when the next one comes around."
Thomas wondered when that would be. He would love to see an art gallery!

Kimberly was feeling exhausted and hungry again. Thankfully Sara, Simon's wife, offered her a meal.

Kimberly was too exhausted to do anymore errands, but she did want to stop by the Bramblewood to deliver a message to the Creature Keeper from Kim. They stopped by their spot at the gazebo.

"Are you ill?" Thomas felt dread wash over him.
"No, I don't think so. Thomas, I think we are going to have a baby."
He was silent for a moment, and then...

"You won't be able to feel anything yet. The baby at this point is probably only the size of a tiny seed."

By the time they got to the Creature Keeper's cottage, he was nowhere to be found. It was getting dark, and so they stargazed together before returning home.

Death roll for Maren: If she gets a 12, 16, or 18 then she doesn't survive to infant stage. She rolled an 8. She also rolled the sensitive trait.
I didn't know the infants made that milk drunk face. I just happened to pause it right after she fed her. It was so cute!
Sorry I couldn't remember the roosters name while I was typing this and didn't feel like opening the game to see what I named it. Lol.
Kimberly got the moodlet "eating for two" in town, but for some reason she didn't get the 1st trimester belly.
In the rules, you're only allowed to harvest once a season, but I'm not sure if that means I need to wait and harvest everything at once, or if I can only harvest each plant once. I've been uprooting the plants after harvesting and then planting more, but I'm probably doing it wrong.
