Ultimate Decades Challenge - Day 32 - Year 1307 - Updated Nov. 17
Hello! Follow along with me as I play Morbid's Ultimate Decades Challenge! The challenge begins in the year 1300 and goes all the way through history to the present day.
We will follow Thomas Farvale, 16, living with his parents, Caitlin and Edward Farvale. He has two older sisters. Anna (20) and Elizabeth (18) who are both married.

I have updated Henford-on-Bagley to look medieval, as well as a few other worlds. I used a combination of some builds from DivanTheSimmer's Medieval Save and SnarkyWitch's Medieval Henford-on-Bagley. I also am using quite a few mods, but that's totally not necessary in order to do this challenge. :)
I actually read up on this the other day, about medieval orphans and if they were adopted, and yes, she should adopt an orphan. Why don't you let chance take a hand in this and after the first one, roll to see how many more orphans she can adopt. From what I read, normally, the church would run an orphanage and establish rules for the home and adoption. Perhaps she could be like a "foster parent" first, with the parson of the church asking them if they could take in a child for a short time, as the orphanage had no room that night...something like that...you can build the storyline however you want. So my vote is yes.. go for it. Or the other solutions would be that there are children of their parents friends, and the children lost their parents to a fire...flood...etc...and they wondered if Elizabeth could shelter them until they found permanent homes for them. Instant family - various ages...with different traits...maybe a bad trait thrown in...

Elizabeth was in Finchwick and it was raining again. She had wanted to get some air, but the rain wasn't doing her any good. She was surprised when she heard a voice behind her.
"Elizabeth?"
It was Sister Crumplebottom. She had seen her in church. A very formidable looking woman. She hadn't spoken to her before, but she seemed to know who she was.
"Yes, Sister Crumplebottom?"

"How are you and John getting on?" she asked.
"We are doing quite well, thank you. And yourself?"
"Oh, not well I'm afraid," the old woman said, shaking her head.

"It's the orphanage," she replied. "So many orphans. We can't possibly care for them all. Why, we just got a new girl, a little toddler, poor dirty thing was just found in the street. No idea what happened to her parents. The poor thing starved half to death."
"That's terrible!" Elizbeth gasped.
"It is, and what's worse, we have no more beds, and none of the sisters can care for a toddler at the moment."
"What will you do?" Elizabeth asked.
"If only I could find someone to take her in." She stared at Elizabeth for a moment and then added, "Why, you and John have a nice little farm, and no children, I dare say...might you be able to take her in? Elizabeth thought for a moment, only slightly stung by the 'no children' comment. Could they take in an orphan? A toddler... Oh, she did long for a child, and maybe this would be a good idea.
"I will discuss it with John. We can come by the orphanage later if everything works out."
"I am delighted to hear it!" cried Sister Crumplebottom. "Do come by later and let us know."
Sister Crumplebottom got up to leave then and Elizabeth couldn't help but wonder if she had planned this whole thing out before she had sat down.
"Sister Crumplebottom?" she asked.
"Yes?"
"Does the child have a name?"
"One of the sisters has taken to calling her Camilla. Whether that is her name or not, we shall never know...the poor dear doesn't speak but a few words."
"Camilla..." Elizabeth whispered. "It's a lovely name. Yes, I will talk to John."

Later, Elizabeth approached John with the subject.

"Oh please, John. Why would she do that?"
"I have heard tales, my dear."

John thought for a moment and then stood up to face Elizabeth. "Yes, of course, why not? We want a child, why not take in this one?"

At the Farvale Farm, Thomas had quite a bit of work done with the money he had made selling his masterpieces to Renly Heart. They added a second floor and a basement. Now they could store the larder down there and actually keep their food cool. They also purchased a llama. Oh my...Sister Crumplebottom...I had a good laugh...and John asking Elizabeth if she had been hit with the purse,,,as he had heard tales...oh my gosh...so funny! Yep, the William Fletcher tales of a purse thrashing! hehehe Oh and what a sweet toddler, Camilla...pretty name. So nice that you used my idea about the orphanage...and Camilla being an unknown toddler could make for a good storyline down the line. (Kidnapped royal of another country perhaps who somehow escaped and was found on the street by the sisters? lol)I love the renos to the Farvale Farm, oh and they have a basement now...great work. The upstairs looks really nice...and bed in the basement...that is for Thomas if he is in the doghouse for some reason or another. lol Ahhh...Emma is a wiggly infant. So sweet.
Thank you. She is cute! She was randomly generated, though her hair was lighter. I darkened it a little, but wanted to still keep it blonde. :) And yes, they will adopt her!

I absolutely adore the house! The amount of cc you had to get is not making me jealous, tho :p
No idea of the ceiling caps, only thing comes to my mind is the roof all the way there?
oh and... I did not mean to be nitpicking or any bad when i mentioned the ceilings at first place. I was thinking should I or not, as it's no way important. I apologise it it was taken wrong way :'( <3
