Why not make a rags to riches pack?

Seems rags to riches is a popular theme, so just wondering why not make a pack that give more items, clothing and stuff for the theme. So you have more options going into it. Could be nice for instance to be able cook fish you cash more places, that you'd have to buy a fishing rod for fishing among other things would make it more challenging. Maybe have fishing stands where you could sell fish at without depending on city living selling tables stuff like that. Sure be possible to have a dozen ideas and possibilities for a pack like that.

Long as it keeps with theme and present the original challenge or add a little more to it for people want that extra challenge original games had to achieve stuff.
  • I also love to play rags to riches. However, we already have a lot of options for playing this playstyle. What I personally miss is more run-down clothing options and run-down b/b.

I would love a Rags to Basic Income with super cheap: walls, floorings, beds, kitchen off-the-grid appliances,
    bathroom off-the-grid plumbing appliances, off-the-grid generator tv/radio & off-the-grid cooking fireplace.

Yah definitely more than to begin with, still think could be better clothing options. Maybe stuff you could click on like eco lifestyle etc for more challenge, like having to buy fishing rods, having to pay a off grid starting lot to have installed water and power, could also be stuff like people less likely to wanna talk to you while you're dirty. Gathering rocks and crystels requiring tools. Could be having possibility to make a small fire to cook fish or using grills in public places.

Still think if you're little creative you could definitely still make a pack centered around it with many low income furniture, more high end. Maybe add system for going to garage sales type places, finding more electrical appliances and stuff you can repair if you get a workbench. Generally thing there many possibilities if you just have a brainstorm that could make theme even more fun and engaging.

Being able to buy telts and put up without having to go on vacation or such in order to buy one would been great too, sometimes maybe getting interrupted and told to leave if you're sleeping on benches for longer period of time. Again think many ways you could do a pack around it.
  • I find this concept in general a rather intriguing one: making packs based around what some players are already doing in the game. I say some because people such as myself have no desire to do challenges, but I can see this as an excuse to get some niche items.

That begs the question of what form these packs will take and what inadequacies will they address. After all, at first it almost seems obvious to be GP territory because of how live mode centric challenges are, but we already have the basic framework for these if people can do them now. Mentioned above is clothes which could be kits (which is theoretically niche content) or an SP, but it would be unlikely to get a large BG update for some of the other requests in that respect. Plus I am not sure how reluctant they will be to only offer addendum content in a larger pack and not the framework itself.

So I don't know. The idea interests me, but I can see a lot of things getting in the way.
  • Well you could technically add stuff like a shelter too, kinda like a lot you go to like get to work may allow for more homeless to be present at any given time, possibility capacity being full could also make it possible to put up a small telt in park. Don't think necessarily have to limit to just cloth or furniture, but then again depends on how much is possible to do outside of a kit or stuff pack gameplay wise.
  • I'd be interested in this and agree that it is a popular style. To be a great pack it would really have riches as well as rags. I say this because for the rich sims there currently isn't a lot of gameplay other than the objects that we have or vacations. Adding some unpredictability would be good. I'm thinking that there would be more ways to spend large amounts of money, more advanced investing that can succeed or fail, more complications and new gameplay. Ownership of multiple houses, more advanced business ownership and investment, casinos, a more advanced stock market and new ways to make a social impact could come in.

It could add some challenge. "Your investment went bad and you lost 900k Simoleons, time to start over."

I'd just want to see that along with any rags-focused pack. Along with the rundown side, some of which is in the game, there should be unpredictable gameplay for those with a lot of Simoleons. That would help when the rich sims get a bit boring and would increase the difficulty at times.
