📍 Venue feedback

Hi,

The venues are always the same ones in every worlds, 23 worlds later it would be nice to add new venues to the basegame.

Museum and Library aren't places to have fun. Park, Bar, Lounge, Dance Club and Gym there are enough of them now.

IRL people also hang out in these places :

  • Arcade / Fairground
  • Bistro / Brasserie : Bar/Café with waiters (no host, no chef), just go to a table and sit.
  • Casino / Gambling Club
  • Cafeteria / Canteen / Fastfood Restaurant : Literally the NPC Stall vendor doing the job inside a building
  • Circus
  • Market Place : Selling local products
  • Movie Theater : Watch movie trailers and buy popcorn before the movie. Actors and directors could come for the movie premiere.
  • Playground : Venue for Child, toddler, infant and their parents/nanny.
  • Shopping Street / Mall

I would like an update for museums to make them more fun. Museum is such an umbrella term, it would be great to build aquariums, children's museums, art installations, a selfie museum. Better collection options to make a history museum. Simply more ways to interact and have fun.

I totally agree with the fairground, I keep finding new ways to suggest bringing back the seasons festivals... I really miss them.

More food options would be great.

Some of your suggestions are avaliable with DLC. I rarely keep the EA builds but my save is full of places to go. My sims never stay home.

    Great ideas.

Libraries need Comic books for teens and children and eBooks on tablet.

  • Some people enjoy libraries and museums, and have fun in those places.

Having said that, I agree that more variety in communal venues would be appreciated.

You are right. It's a different kind of fun from the wild party scene style of fun. I find myself feeling more happy and enlightened when I visit and leave a museum or library unlike a club or bar/tavern.🙂

  • I would like a real movie theater instead of the rabbit hole I have in my game. I downloaded this playable theater from the gallery 2 yrs ago and it works as a great substitute for the rabbit hole.

    🙃😜😝

  • I miss the Community lot from The Sims 2 which was able to combine several venues, for example Nightclub + restaurant.

I would appreciate a venue with multi-service NPC business.

The team really needs to make multifunctional lots a reality in this game. The gallery features many builds that are set up for this type of gameplay:  restaurants, retail and bars all on one lot.

I would like to live above a record store or coffee shop and still have retail sales on that lot.

edit: You can live above all these shops and you can have a working cafe below your apartment but the cafe is only for the sims that live on that lot and their visitors. The difference is these lots are not open to the general sim world.

I would like a Retail/Residential or Restaurant/Residential Lot type in my game where you can run a business below and live above.

For Rent already has a system in place for zoning different areas(rental units) on a lot.

  • It's possible to make cafeteria/fast food restaurant with the university cafeteria station and community space lot. I have found that lot type as being the most versatile and it only needs the community board to function.

Would be nice if they added a new venue/lot type in each EP or at least enabled NPCs to the different food and drinks stations we have to appear on lots like the Museum or a Shop. I think giving the venues we do have more purpose would also help a lot. We don't really need a playground lot type for example, they could make the requirement very basic for park, like a bench, and then let the player decide whether it will be a playground, or community park, or national park, or whatever just by adding the different items and maybe adding lot traits. It would help if we had more playground equipment and more interesting things to do in a park. In TS1 we could have a cafe in the park and the jazz player, remote boat on the lake. In TS4, if  want a working cafe in the park I need to create it as a community space and add a coffee stand. Sometimes there is a neighbourhood food stand nearby and I can use that but that's not always the case. Would be great if we could have NPCs for the bars, coffe bars, food stations, music instruments, spa equipment, even sales assistants, etc. appear automatically on any lot they are placed. Shops also need to be standalone, like restaurants, for easier stocking/updating, etc. After each pack I try and revisit my venues and update them with the new stuff if there's anything new that can be added. I don't mind the bars for example as long as I can make them a bit different from one another. One's a regular pub, one a bowling bar, one a karaoke bar, etc. Would have been nice to have a bowling table and a rocking bull attraction. Same with restaurants and even cafes, I like to give them a theme and make them different enough from one another, so to me at least, they don't feel like I visit the same place again and again.

  • In The Sims 1, the community lots were designed to be fun, Studio Town and Magicland had several activities.
