I completely agree - the current system still needs work! While the pricing fix helped, we desperately need proper portion control for food and drinks. Here's how to make it work correctly:
Key Improvements Needed:
1. Serving Options for Food & Drinks
Add "Pick Up Serving" and "Pick Up All Servings" interactions to:
Food Items:
- All multi-serving dishes (pizzas, sushi platters, candy bowls, etc.)
Drink Containers:
- Drink trays
- Fizzy juice boxes
- Kava bowls
Appliances:
- Coffee makers
- Tea brewers
- Kettles
- Pressure cookers
2. Batch Preparation System
Allow making multiple items at once for:
- Bar drinks
- Microwave meals
- Quick meals and drinks
(This would be a huge time-saver for food stands and small businesses!)
Why This Solution Works Best:
✔ Realistic Purchasing - Customers can buy either single servings OR group servings
✔ Full Player Control - Choose whether to sell whole dishes or individual portions
✔ Eliminates Tedium - No more frustrating "Grab a serving" micro-management or limited "Pick up serving" options!
✔ Cross-Pack Compatibility - Works seamlessly with Home Chef Hustle, Get to Work, Business & Hobbies, and base game
✔ Restores Proper Functionality - Brings back the original behavior where Sims could buy single portions
Bonus Benefits:
- Perfect for all food businesses: bakeries, cafés, and food stands
- Much smoother retail gameplay experience
- 100% mod-free solution
- Maintains the pricing fix while actually solving the core issue
The current system forces us to choose between two bad options:
• Unrealistic bulk sales where customers buy entire platters
• Exhausting manual portioning through repetitive actions
Neither option provides fun or practical gameplay!
