can cats and dog be put in base game for those of us that cant get it

Alas, I think this is unlikely for two reasons:

1. They fund their ongoing development, including bug fixes, with your DLC purchases.

2. I personally don’t agree with this, but many people would get angry and come here to demand refunds if they made an expansion free.

I do wish that basic things like this came with the base game. Along with weather. Having a pet and experiencing weather are very much common things and I don't see why it should be monetized. At a stretch, I think they should be base game with additional experiences being dlc. For example being able to get your pet a job or train them for shows, and for weather maybe seasonal activities and holiday celebrations could be dlc. Even then it's not perfect because where is the line? What I do think is okay being dlc is fantasy aspects. Not everyone wants wizards, or vampires etc. And not everyone is interested in defeating a monster thats mind controlling everyone... but pets and weather... its basic stuff and shouldn't be dlc.

I'm too young to get a job, and can't get a summer job because i have to travel far for it and my parents don't want that. so there's no way of me getting money for this pack. And some of the packs they have you pay for is crazy high priced. If the game is free and packs are money fine... but if it has to be 40$!!! for a pack no way. At least make it 30 or 20$ like in the sims 3. I would willingly pay for that on my bday [which is around halloween]. Or at least give us a pet that isn't boring in the base game, because the fish are boring! The frogs are boring. 

I totally understand the feeling but they'd never give us an EP for free (i still can't believe we got stuff packs for free). The only thing i see as possible (and i'd LOVE) is turning frogs and fishes interesting, giving interactions similar to rodents, because right now they aren't pets but collectible objects.

@Firefoxgirls there are regular sales so Cats and Dogs will probably be half price somewhere soon 🤞. Unfortunately they wouldn't be able to add them to the base game because as has already been mentioned it doesn't go down well with people who have bought it.

But I keep noticing that Cottage Living is often advertised on my Xbox Home screen as being on sale on it's own at a reduced price. So that's another option too to add animals. It has Llamas, cows and chickens plus wild birds, wild rabbits and wild foxes you can befriend.

I agree I'd like the other critters in the game to be more interactive like the frogs and pet fish. There's also the pond effects creatures available in the base game, if you click on lily pads and logs you can add frogs and turtles to your garden pond. There are also the ducks and swans. They have sales on a regular rotation. I have seen it for as much as 50% off in the past. That is not a basic feature. I still do not have the option to have my pets in-game without mods/CC. They do need another small pets pack so birds can be an option.
