I think the sims 4 growing together pack should have included an overhaul of the family tree system. The appearance of it alone is outdated, but the dynamics of family are FAR to simplified for how m...
@JonaO703 It does show (first) cousins and aunts/uncles but I really wish in-laws and second cousins would be registered. In-laws so I can stop constantly re-introducing them and second cousins to prevent romantic interactions 😭
@lucombre Hi! I was thinking the same thing but I'm no longer seeing aunts / uncles / cousins in the family tree. Just to be sure, I tested it in a save with no mods.
Here I only see Patricia's mother Paige, even though Paige has three sisters each with a child.
When I look at Paige's genealogy, I only see her sisters and daughter Patricia. It doesn't show Paige's niece and nephews.
It's the same for Paige's sisters and their children. The aunts / cousins / nieces / nephews are not displaying in the tree but I think they should be. It seems like we were able to see more of the relationships before, so maybe something changed. Whatever the case, I hope the team sees this thread and takes the time to update the genealogy to show all relationships in the tree. <fingers crossed>
@JonaO703 I'm also not seeing aunts, uncles or cousins and it's the same even if they live together, which really doesn't make sense. The relationships do show in the individual Sim profiles though, but not their family trees. So for example, Malin has her parents on her family tree along with her brother and sister who both live in other households, but not the Aunt who lives in the same house as her. They were all created together as well using Play with Genetics. Malin's niece and nephews aren't there either from her siblings households. I checked the other family households too and it's the same.
@simsplayer818 Thanks for sharing that! Since this is a thing on Xbox as well, then it's definitely not a mod / CC issue. It's actually sounding more like a bug to me now. :-( I don't play legacy games often but I decided to do one for my current save. My legacy family has an "ancestral" home with a mausoleum where all the urns are kept. There aren't a lot of branches in the tree because each generation has only had one or two sim siblings / cousins. However, I'm on the sixth generation now and since I can't see all the relationships, I'm having to click every sim in the tree to see them. It's rather aggravating! lol
