I couldn't agree with you more. I do appreciate the overhaul EA did on how a Sim becomes a celebrity, which makes better sense to me that than how it was done in Sims 3. But, they left out the singer career, almost altogether. I use a mod for my Rock Star. Even that doesn't. I went for years without any recognition of his musical abilities. He made songs on that device where he was really doing remixes. It is implied he could receive a nomination for Best Song from this. Most that happened for him was to hear it on the radio. Which was cool, don't get me wrong. Then others told me how he could get recognized for his music. I went nuts over it. My previous iteration of him he won 50 Best Songs in a row. He was unstoppable. I'm afraid I got a little greedy, too, tying to make up for the vast amount of time he went unrecognized.
As for needing other award shows, while I contemplated how to write up this current version of the same Sim, to mix things up a bit, I wanted a way for something like the Grammies, People's Choice Awards, etc. But there simply isn't a way for the Sims to hand out anything other than the Starlight Accolade trophy. Ho-hum. I had to reorder the Award Show. I decided the first Sunday of each season would determine which award was being handed out. Worked out just fine when I was playing a 7-day season. My young teen Global Superstar, Rock Star, managed a clean sweep of the Big Four. That was fun.
Yes, Get Famous needs a refresh, if you will. I'd like to see a complete overhaul, in which the best of this pack is preserved, but with some drastic, and dramatic changes, too. When you get your mod built, please tap me on the shoulder, I'd go for it.
