Future of the game

I'm confused on this topic are you trying to say it needs to get away from the dollhouse aspect?

I mean less shallow (Barbie) and more action oriented (Lego). (Stop pretending to be a Secret Agent without gameplay)

A dollhouse gameplay offering more options because life should be more exciting in video games.

I'm still a little confused however I don't think it's going to pull away from the dollhouse aspect before the game was even called "The Sims " it was going to be called "The Dollhouse." That is what intrigued people from the beginning it's not an arcade, puzzle, action, fantasy, rpg  game since we already have those types of games. It was its own category for years that's why it became so popular and had its own fan base. 

Occult is already a part of the fantasy and RPG quests were in The Sims 1 so it's in the DNA of The Sims, it's not limited to Barbie dollhouse. In fact The Sims games on console and spin-off games were anything but a dollhouse.

It's "popular" but not that much sadly, Minecraft has a 10 times bigger community and way more active players.

The Sims must grow up and learn new ways to think. It's not about turning The Sims into GTA but a little more of freedom and variety of lives would be appreciated. Mods already do a lot of things that could be included in the game.

There is a spectrum of types of Sims players. I wouldn't really call it Barbie more paper doll (basically CAS creators), playing house (from RL mimicking to baby challenges), skill grinders/collectors, builder/creator, and puzzle/adventure (like Sims 3 WA/Sims 4 JA).

As someone who, as a child, played with both Barbie and Lego, Lego did way out last Barbie. I was a Medieval and Pirate Lego collector/builder, I got as far as one deep sea submarine too. 

I'd like more building, puzzle solving, customizing, etc. features over bloating CAS, and RL interaction/game style fluff. It doesn't mean there can't be some added, but more depth and creativity—I think will help the game last longer.

I'd like it if they released a World Editor feature (Base Game), so we can finally edit the neighbourhoods (add insects/butterflies/etc. to all worlds if we want, edit/add spawners/etc. and add/remove lots/shell buildings/etc.), and user made tomb/mission/quest building so we can share on the gallery to add gameplay for others.

Just because you don't see a lot of action in the community doesn't mean it doesn't have players I barely got into the community when Sims 4 was in its early stages but I played the Sims 1-3 not knowing there was a community so there's most likely that doesn't know the community and just playing the game. 

Occults are apart of fantasy but is it selling? The only popular occult pack selling is real of magic, EBN didn't sell well and they are still advertising that pack. They even tried putting Star Wars in the Sims and that was received very badly in the Sims community. 

I guess that's why people are different I never liked Legos growing up lol I was dressing up Barbies even had my cousins coming with their barbies playing like we had an entire neighborhood. 

I definitely had my time with Barbie, my friend even had the McDonalds set, and we'd play for hours. As I mentioned I think there is a spectrum of types of players, no wrong answers, or maybe one could be various percentiles of each type/category. 

I do lean to building especially in Sims 3, Sims 4 I would say I am more balanced gameplay a little of everything maybe slightly leaning more to skilling/collecting more, and the least of "playing house".

I honestly think the Star Wars pack was a big mistake (I don't mind the Build/Buy/CAS) as I am an occult/fantasy/sci-fi player, but I am not interested in the gameplay of this pack.

If they were going to do a fantasy collab (but maybe they shouldn't have at all, and kept it Sims canon), it should have been like Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts, Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass, or LoTR/The Hobbit. I think RoM is the best occult pack, and there was still complaints of it coming up short. But I didn't even try Sims 4 till L&D (and bought with RoM/Vampires).

From what I see there is a balance of realism vs. occult players, as some players admit they like both, and some realism exclusive still don't mind getting some occult packs like Vampires for Victorian Build/Buy/CAS. 

But I think Fairy occults were the least favourite occult, so that might be why EbN fell short. I mean I tried a fairy, but I am a spellcaster/human player. I think that EbN/CoL are great complimentary combo, and I believe CoL is a favoured pack for both realism players and occult players.

I do think that if we get a pack that give Genies/Djinn, update Mermaids (like an ocean exploration pack and giving them an ability tree), and/or update make PlantSims a perma state with ability tree they will do much better than fairies.

Is lego action-oriented though? I remember my brother and I used to design imaginary worlds using legos, but then we would act out our stories  in the back yard without them. I would say lego and barbie are pretty similar in the amount of imagination you have to bring to the table in order to actually have a story going.
