[HSY] Too frequent ThrifTea notifications (daily, with no option to disable)

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.90.375.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Everything up to and including High School Years
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play any household for a couple of days
What happens when the bug occurs? Each sim-day, at 07:00 AM the current household gets a notification about ThrifTea. This is annoying and unnecessary, especially if you don't care about ThrifTea.
What do you expect to see? A way to disable this notification either through gameplay, options or the passage of time.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

ThifTea notifications happen every day, for every household, regardless of living in Copperdale or not.

@LareeIvores Agreed! It is a BUG.

I just downloaded a bunch of mods to fix this bug too. Ridiculous!
  • Every. Single. Day.

    It's so annoying!

We need a way to disable notifications for events we do not care about. My Sim isn't even in high school anymore and he still gets notified every week about the football and cheerleading events.

@DemB00ts I had high hopes for SocialBunny, but after using it a while, the daily notifications help me remember to deactivate it ASAP. 😝
Indeed, a one time reminder would suffice in most of the cases for these events. Maybe they should be properly attached to certain conditions — like having teenagers in the household for the football/cheerleading events.

I have tried my best to ignore it, but with ever growing amount of notifications, I no longer can.
The only positive is that at least the notification is silent...

I wish there was an option to check that you were a seasoned simmer, meaning that you don't need all of the info notifications.
A better design would be having the notification once per save/per household, or only if there is a teen in the household.

still annoys me every time i play the game. sometimes enough to make me want to turn it off and stop playing. why should we need mods to fix something this basic that ahs been an issue for years?!

  • Don't come for me but I have a mod that notifies me of all events. 😀 I also like the phone calls. 🫢

There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s okay that the notifications exist. You’re proof that some players use them. I use some of them; which ones depends on the kind of game I’m playing. But if you have all the expansions, there are just too many and I desperately want some customization.  And things have only gotten *worse*: with Enchanted by Nature, the game gives me a notification every time my Sim uses the Natural Living skill, even if the skill is maxed so I clearly understand how it works. It’s baffling, no other skill does this. Why did they think this was a good idea?

This notification is still happening on the daily. I even bulldozed the thrifttea lot, changed it to generic, it still kept giving the notification. Now I replaced the lot with a cafe (made with not a single item from the hs pack) and the notification IS STILL HAPPENING! I have 0 thrift lots in my entire save and the only bubble tea stand is the one outside by the Ferris wheel.

I also have all my Sims (when I play) turn off that stupid part of the game.  Now I wish I could block the pathetic losers who call almost daily to ask if they should ask someone out, or spend time with a friend, or get a new job.  Or the people who call to congratulate a Sim for getting a new job, or promotion, or for becoming friends with someone. While we're at it, let's also stop the stupid solicitations from people offering jobs.  If the people working on this game think this is normal, they lead very pathetic lives.
