Ideas for Sims 4

Ok so I been thinking about this for a while now, and maybe I'm the only one... But it would be awesome if there was a way to play live with others on Sims 4, be able to use a headset and chat with them while playing. Like maybe the neighbors are other people playing Sims! But maybe for safety reasons have a way to separate minors from adults like IMVU does or tries to do. Am I the only one thinking this?

  • I know there are people who want various levels on online co-op with Sims, but I wouldn’t want it for myself. I create a world just for my enjoyment and share whatever I choose with folks on here. I don’t need interaction during play, and I definitely don’t want anyone else in my game. I definitely don’t want it in Sims 4. I bought a solo player game and I want it to stay that way. If they went that route, it would have to be completely optional. It’s been suggested that the next iteration will be more online, so you may get your wish, eventually.

  • I would find that annoying. If you want to chat you can do that on the phone or Teams, but I have no interest in speaking to my sims neighbours. IMVU is not a simulation game it is an avatar chat. Your avatar doesn't have wants, needs, moodlets and can't die by accident when starting a kitchen fire. If there was no chatting in IMVU , there's not much else to do, so I understand the appeal of chatting. Sims is a different type of game and I prefer to be immersed in it without external interference.

I mean... It could be optional, a few different games I've played had the option to go online with others or stay offline alone.

The Sims online came out 2002. It was a huge failure.

Second the "completely optional". Thanks for the thoughtful solution.

Indeed, the Sims has always been a single player experience for me, and if they introduce this in TS5 I'm v unlikely to buy it. Altho tbf at this point I'm unlikely to buy it no matter what they put into it xD

Definitely not something I want or need in my game. It's been implied for years that some of the shallower, less satisfying aspects of TS4 are due to the fact that it was originally designed to have this online component. Whether that's true or not, it's one of the main reasons I'm uninterested in TS5.

  • There is a mod for that it is called S4MP, i have tried to use it, there is a free version, where you are limited to joining other folks games. It requires that all worlds and cc be the same on all parties for it to work, there is a whole setup you need to follow.  Home - Sims 4 Multiplayer (sims-multiplayer.com)
