ideas to make the sims even better

Hello The Sims Team!

First of all, thank you for creating a game that has been part of my life for years. I have spent hundreds of hours playing The Sims because I truly love the freedom and creativity it gives players.

Recently, I have been playing and watching other life simulation games, and they made me think about some features that I believe would make The Sims even more creative and enjoyable.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Allow players to freely resize furniture, windows, and doors by changing their width and height instead of only scaling the whole object.
  • Add more advanced building tools so we can stretch, shorten, widen, or narrow objects without needing custom content.
  • Let players upload their own pictures to place inside picture frames. It would make homes feel much more personal and unique.
  • Give us more freedom with object placement and decoration.
  • Add more customization options for furniture, colors, and materials to encourage creativity.

I know implementing features takes time, but I truly believe additions like these would modernize Build Mode and make The Sims stand out even more among life simulation games.

These ideas come from someone who genuinely loves this franchise and wants to see it continue to grow for many years.

Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestions, and thank you for everything you do for this amazing community.

Sul Sul! 💚

This isn't likely an option since animations are specificly made to fit the height of almost all of the objects and as such it means that the items must remain the size they are for gameplay purposes.

Also not likely to happen, again for The Sims 4 the items are handcrafted to fit around the animations. It's also a limit of the engine for the game.

I would like more snapping spots for items, but in terms of object placement. For routing purposes items have to be snapping to correct slots for gameplay usage. You are always free to use the move objects cheat for being able to place things where you like. But they are not likely going to just change the engine to allow free placement all the time.

This is something that has been adressed before and they have confirmed that they will not be adding in any kind of colour wheel for objects and clothing. This is to limit performance issues that can be caused by to much customisation.

  • Ditching the in game advertisements should be their main priority. At the main menu they can advertise all they want, but after that when I click play, they should let me play and shouldn't keep begging me to buy their crap. it's pathetic.

That's certainly an EA management choice and not a The Sims team choice. They won't do anything about that.
