"Skyla turned in her homework confidently that class {the one she just attended} and squeezed every bit of knowledge she could out of it. That kind of effort will surely be a great help to her final grade in the course."Whether or not it reads as smoothly or succinctly as one would like is, as always in English, up for debate.
PS I have a terminal degree in creative writing, for what it's worth.
