Lightning rods

Hello fellow Watchers of Grilled Sims,

I've been thinking for a while about thunder hitting and destroying decorations in my Sims' gardens. I find it weird that having functioning lighting rod isn't an option.

In the pack Seasons, it would be nice if Sims could have the option to add a functioning lightning rod on their buildings, just like in Get To Work they have the option to install a satellite dish to prevent alien abductions. I wish to keep thunderstorms and snowstorms in my game, without sacrificing the security of my landscaping.

    I would definitely like a lightning rod. Having a celebrity home, onlookers continue to hang around outside throughout the storms and are repeatedly struck by lightning. I would like to save them from that.

    A bazillion times YES on this idea. My main gripe is when something gets zapped, the ground beneath it gets blacked as well and it is not always blaringly noticeable right away. But when the sun comes out, it is. And even sims with speed cleaning trait still take a little longer than normal to clean the black up. And as often as it storms in the places where my sims live, it is really annoying. And then there is also the constant cost and effort to replace everything that gets destroyed.

    Sure I got with that along with a weather vane that can be used as a lightning rod.
