List of Toggles I Would Like to See in Sims 4
First, I just want to say that I know there are already many threads about these particular things, but I just figured that I would add my own personal list of toggles I feel this game desperately needs and should have been implemented with each DLC and the base game but still do not have one and are making the game not nearly as fun as it could be. A lot of these things can be modded out if you are on PC, but as a console player I do not have access to the options, and a simple On/Off switch in the settings would solve a lot of grievances I have with many systems that I do not like that were added via DLC or were there since launch with no real official relief.
Base Game
Weight Gain/Loss toggle - This is something people have been asking for since launch, and it really doesn't make sense to force this system onto people that don't want to watch their sim get fat constantly just by eating high level meals. Yes, there are ways to remove it or cheat it, but you shouldn't have to implement them every game just to keep your sims at the desired weight when a simple toggle to turn it off would do nicely.
Discover University
Roommate Hidden Trait Toggle - honestly, I like the idea of having sims I don't have full control over sharing my space with me, but the hidden trait system makes this absolutely unbearable. I get the idea is to simulate good or bad roommates, but honestly it should just be a challenge toggle not forced into the system. Having sims randomly pull out a violin every two seconds and playing it gratingly badly and then having to kick them out and reinvite them just to reset the hidden traits is not my idea of fun. I've heard there is a cheat using sim IDs, but I've never got it to work for me personally and since I don't control the roommates directly there's no real way to know if it actually worked. I would just prefer a blanket setting that just removes all those traits completely and can be turned back on when I actually want the chaos.
For Rent
Enable Rental Unit Events Toggle Fix - There is already a toggle to turn off For Rent events, but it's notoriously buggy for Landlords. It absolutely does not work as intended and has not worked since launch, and I am constantly being bombarded with Tenant Revolts even 30 in game seconds after moving someone in, they start revolting for no reason. It honestly makes being a landlord unbearable. I really hope this gets looked into soon.
Lovestruck
Satisfaction Toggle - I honestly despise this system, and it makes being in a relationship feel more like a 2nd job than actually being in one realistically. A lot of the time you can't even go 24 hours without romantic interactions with your significant other before they start complaining about being unsatisfied, bombarding you with calls about wanting to talk, the same popup teaching you about satisfaction appearing constantly, and then repeating romantic interactions until it stops. The reward trait that slows it down helps a bit but it's not enough. I would rather just turn it off completely and go back to the traditional two bars without the hidden 3rd bar similarly to how you can just turn off attraction instantly.
Enchanted by Nature
Limit Fairies to Innisgreen Toggle Rework - I know the devs feel like this one is already working as designed, but if that's the case then I feel this one should be re-evaluated because it is very misleading and doesn't work the way most of us actually want it to.
What it does - Stops fairies from spawning in their fairy form (with wings floating around).
What we actually want it to do - Keep fairies in the world of Innisgreen and stop them from spawning anywhere outside of it.
Almost every day I am hounded by Fairies coming to my door and there is no real way to stop it outside of just using the private lot trait which stops all people coming to your house not just fairies which is not what I want, and no, I am not using the Fairy Passage lot trait. I have never once used it because I have never needed to use it since they come every day regardless. I can only speculate that the game might be bugged to assume the lot trait is constantly active, and maybe that is why they constantly come to your door. And even if you cure them, they pass on, or you delete their household in the manager, the game will just spawn more fairies, and the cycle will just continue. I don't think the developers had this in mind when they created this DLC as it renders the Fairy Passage lot trait moot and it would very much be appreciated if this could be looked into as soon as possible.
