Make it possible for expelled teens to reenroll

So yesterday’s patch made it impossible to reenroll after getting expelled. Before that patch, my sims could reenroll but for automatically expelled at the end of the school day, even if they did great.

I wasn’t even playing my sims when they got expelled, and I don’t know what they have done. I didn’t want them to be expelled. So I’d just like for them to be able to reenroll, instead of being locked out of school (especially as I play with aging off).  And I don’t think I’m the only one.

I know there’s a “three strikes” thingy, but depending on your sims mood, state etc, it’s way to easy to get a strike without even trying to.

For instance my tired sims tend to take a nap instead of walking to the classroom, or if they do, given the size of the school, they don’t make it in time.

So it would be more fair to have a way to reenroll in school. Even if we have to beg the principal for mercy.

Also what’s the point of having HSY if our sims get expelled super easily and then can’t even go to school ?

  • @dianed485 This is ontended behaviours as it was so buggy when they could re enroll but you can take a online course

@gooochyeeeYes, they got expelled automatically at the end of the school day when they reenrolled, regardless of how good they did at school that day.
But why not fix it instead of removing it completely ? Or make it so they get expelled only temporarily ?

Especially as, like I said, it’s super easy to get a strike without even trying. And after three, your sim is expelled. And there’s only one High School, so it’s not like they can just reenroll elsewhere.

Today for the x time, I got a pop-up message saying my sim was expelled. I don’t even know why. I was playing with that household but had sent my teen to high school on his own. It shouldn’t happen and there should be a way to re-enroll. Please give us an option, even a simple cheat, but please do something.

Think of people that play with aging off, what are they supposed to do with a teen that can’t go to school ?!

  • I wish it was like 2 suspensions first and then also the option to skip with friends

@dianed485   Unfortunately it’s fixed in that it’s now working as intended - if you’re expelled you’re expelled. If you could reenroll that would just be suspension (and if you could reenroll the very next day that would just be a free day off). But have you considered using cheats?

I don’t have the pack myself, but I’ve heard you can use

    traits.remove_trait trait_HSExit_Expelled and

careers.add_career career_Teen_HighSchool to un-expel them and put them back in school.

If your Sims are still getting expelled (the first time) while you’re not even playing them, however, that might be a bug.

When your Teen becomes a Young Adult, they qualify to get their High School Diploma online on the computer found under the Career category.

Computer > Career > Work Toward a High School Diploma (§250)

Please EA. It’s been years and they still can’t reenroll in school. If you play with aging off, and a lot of us do, your teens are left as forever high school dropouts….

Maybe you could change the « three strikes system » so that :

    a) We get a notification when our sim is at risk of being expelled so we can actually do something about it while it’s still possible. Ie “Strike 1, after 3 you will be expelled”. Because as it is now we have no idea until they get expelled nor do we know why they were expelled.

    b) Maybe the sims can only be expelled for a few days at first, and then have another chance.

    c) Maybe sims can only be expelled for very bad behavior but not just because they didn’t arrive on time or have bad grades.

    d) Maybe  we could have a cheat to “clean our teen’s record” and erase those three strikes.

    e) Make it possible for the teen or their parents to try and convince the principal to let them reenroll.

Maybe you could even make it possible to bribe the principal in order to reenroll for sims with a lot of money, and questionable morals ?

    f) Make the cheat that removes the “expelled from high school” trait actually work.

    But please, do something.
