Posting here for the first and only time because I have no idea how else to make a formal complaint. There absolutely needs to be a way for players to opt out of real time events like the Reaper Rewards or this upcoming holiday one.I was trying to ignore it during the Reaper rewards, but the event menu was always sitting up there in the top left of the screen and was impossible to close entirely. I said to myself, "Well, at least it's only for a few weeks. Maybe I'll focus on building in the meantime." Only to log in today and find out that there's another one coming up. For the love of god, enough!! I should be able to turn this off!

This, so much this. There's no reason we should be forced to stare at an icon on screen we don't want that constantly lets us know that we are or aren't participating in something. These "events" are nothing more than loot boxes with tasks and feels like it's just a way to artificially increase the number of players per week. The last event was a buggy mess and took up time the developers could have used to fix and patch actual game play bugs and instead had to work on trying to figure out and patch the event bugs. It's just dumb. Stop it.

These reward events heavily ruin the game experience, if anything. Also the fact that we can't opt out of these adds a lot of insult to injury.I definitely feel The Sims 4 has gone incredibly downhill a lot this year and I don't think it's gonna get any better. It's such a bloated mess anymore and it really make me feel discouraged and drained. If EA is really trying to improve The Sims 4, they are doing it horribly wrong. Reward events do not help matters and only make the game experience worse. 💔

I would be happy if there was a way to close the event UI, even if it was each time I played. Because I agree, it was fine when I thought the little Grim was only taking up space for a few weeks, but if this is to be a semi-permanent fixture, well, that's just annoying. The cart still remains, taking up space, now this?And actual wanted gameplay features are further condensed (looking at you, soul's journey, stacked on top of aspirations...).

I agree with this 1000%. There should be a choice whether a player is opting in to or out of login/reward events like Reaper Rewards, Cozy Celebrations, etc.Personally, even with the irritation of all the bugs, I liked the Reaper Rewards. However, I want nothing to do with Cozy Celebrations at all. I'd like to play during the event time without pop-ups or the banners in live mode or any of the weird stuff that comes with it.I think it's only fair to have a toggle or a choice box or something to say I do not want to participate in this event (and it can be reversible even for ultimate fairness if someone changes their mind) so that even if my game is now going to be buggy as a termite mound while it's ongoing at least I can play in somewhat a bit more peace. I think it's only fair, given this is not something I purchased or indicated I wanted to opt-in to, versus all the DLC I have purchased and opted-in to on the other hand over the years with the Sims 4.

These events shouldn't be happening at all (I already left feedback on this at the new forums), but if they're going to happen anyway, they NEED an opt-out.

I understand that the point of these quests is to boost engagement with the game, but for those of us who are already playing and just want to play in peace, it’s insanely annoying how it constantly flashes in the corner of the screen, especially when no progress has been made. I simply ask to stop the unnecessary flashing.

Wouldn‘t it be possible for there to be a seperate setting for the Events. In such a way that not everyone has this directly in the game, as many people don‘t want it. Special only for those who want to take part in these Events.
An Indie Development Studio does it that way too.

Totally agree the last event was buggy for me. Then there’s also the regular stupid events, like even when I cancel neighborhood brawl from the calendar somehow my sims will still whine about how it was awful that they didn’t get to do all the things they wanted to do. 🙄

I would love a way of opting out of these events too. There just causing my game issues particulary on console. Even a way to remove the event icon would be a positive. Yes it'll be a shame to miss out on free content but I would rather no free content if it saved me issues, bugs and a battle with my ocd everytime I open the game and can't focus on anyhing but that icon! I dread each event and how long that icon will be there and my seasons holidays getting messed up due to the live service events.

Sadly, EA doesn't care what the customer's want. If they did, this would have an opt out option.

You hit the nail on the head...EA doesn't want to find a work around...
There are other life sim games out there and some of them make The Sims look so 'last century.'
