New DLC Buy/Buildmode/Worlds/CAS More Easily Attainable

I was just talking with some fellow Simmers on these forums and it inspired me to throw this thought out there to see how others feel about this idea....

Several players have read about the ongoing issues/bugs with the latest pack Lovestruck. More so too, the way the new attraction system works with Lovestruck. With this, some of us are not interested in buying it. Yet, we really like/love the look of the new world and some of the buy/buildmode items too.

The same with the older DLC they come out with. I didn't necessarily want some of the themes they come with, like vampires and werewolves. While I feel others have a right to play them in their games... it's just simply not my thing. But...some of the objects that come with it are awesome!

This got me to thinking... wishing there was a way we can get those worlds or items without having to buy the full pack.

EA should consider making a way for us to download what we want in our DLC other than conducting pulls to find out what people want. There are thousands of players out there with different tastes and interest in the way we all wish to see our games take shape and unfold in the future packs, kits, etc. to come.

Back in the Sims 3 days we had an EA Store of which you could buy themed DLC sets or individualized items of clothing/hairstyles, Buy/Buildmode/Worlds. What's more, if you opt to watch a very short advertisement you could add up "Simpoints" to attain these for free. Also, they created "Compilation Sets" which grouped various items/clothing/hairstyles/themed sets together, making it cheaper to purchase than if sold separately as an incentive to buy or save up Simpoints to acquire them. The added bonus to those compilations sets is if you were to buy certain themed sets or individualized items it would count toward those already included in these compilations sets and making the remaining objects, etc. within these sets cheaper to purchase than if you were to purchase them separately.

I realize there were considered "downsides" to this too by fellow Simmers, as many saw this as another expensive way to get what we desired for our games and a big money maker for EA... But then again... at least we had more control over the content. What was nice too is sometimes they would include an item that perhaps was in a EP, etc. so we didn't have to buy the whole pack for that item.

It seems to me I read somewhere EA was either considering or Simmers were hoping EA would make it so we can choose a certain amount of CAS, buy/buildmode objects, and worlds to create our own custom packs. If we were to buy an EP sized customized pack... the more items we could choose from than we would say...a customized Game pack, Stuff pack, or Kit. This way we all can have what we want and leave out items less appealing to us. It's a win win for all.

@wasikm007 I can definitely see this appealing to players.
I put off downloading Vampires and Werewolves for ages because I really didn't want the gameplay but I just wanted the content. Turned out I actually found things to love about the Werewolves pack in the end after seeing some great posts from other players. But Vampires are a massive phobia for me and I love the content but I deleted the characters and keep an eye out for Vampires spawning in my game. When one appeared on my Sims doorstep I was horrified. So I'd definitely have preferred to just have the CAS/BB items without gameplay.

@simsplayer818 I am in the same boat. I thought I did a great job in deleting all vampires and werewolves within the game, only to have a vampire appear on my doorstep as well. I quickly locked the door! LOL

This is how sad I am 🤣🤣 I reeeeallly want the wall shower from discover university and it makes me very tempted to buy it when on sale, but it's literally just for that object, I'm sure the game play is fun and the vast amount of other items you get but damn, I just want that 🤣
Oh also parenthood, I'm always on the lookout for a new dishwasher as we only get 1, and the packs I have bought haven't had them so I'm always very close to buying a full on pack for just a single item 🙂

@simsplayer818 if you're ever feeling brave one time you could turn that fear into a story, create a Buffy character, just sneaks out of her parents every night, slays those nasty vampires, and with mods I'm sure you can find a vast and unwholesome way of getting rid of them 🙂 could even make you enjoy getting rid of them ♥️

@cbarber89 The wall shower is bugged if that makes you feel any better lol. If your Sims wake up feeling energised the shower options are reduced to Brisk Shower and another option I can't remember. If they become energised using the shower they'll stop showering after a few seconds. All my wall showers are affected. But they do look good in a walk in shower. (The bug has been reported).
So imagine if you got the pack just for that shower and immediately became really really annoyed with it!

@simsplayer818 That would be incredibly annoying, I do also have snowy escape that comes with a wall shower, but it's not quite as hidden as the one from the uni pack, I'll keep an eye out for when I next use one as I haven't noticed myself but usually I put them in a shower and let them crack on.
They do look amazing, I usually build a bathroom then have a 2 or 3x1 grid I wall off, drop down a level and replace the walls with some big windows or some half walls and have that as the walk in shower area.

@cbarber89 I like the Lovestruck wall shower more but it's also bugged for me. I like that Lovestruck also adds specific walk in shower doors and windows too. They look great... even if my Sims do stop showering after a second!

@wasikm007 To be honest, your idea makes me wary because I know ea. They won't stop at just selling individual items from add-ons. Think about it, they'll make a store in the game where they'll sell items from add-ons. Spend time and effort, add a few, maybe gigabytes to the game on the hard drive. They'll start selling items from add-ons, and later they'll think, hmmm... we've spent so much effort on this and we'll make so little money on this, why the hell do we need it? Let's just sell them additional items, different ones that aren't in any add-on, or we'll include modders and sell CC content. And as a result, I personally don't want another store like in The Sims 3. Where for some guildplay features that they'll cut out of add-ons and add there, I don't want them and I'm not left in add-ons anyway. They've become small. Most likely, that's how it will all be. Simulators already complain about the high cost of the game, and if we have to pay for individual objects from add-ons, which they won't limit themselves to, then the price of the game will skyrocket. You understand the company's priorities. Your comment looks more like an attempt to feel out the audience, whether they are ready to do microtronizations in the game or not. That's why I say no to your idea. The move is good, but it's a pity that it is easy to guess.
