No Novelty Holiday Cookies or recipes?

From what I've seen for the event there's some pretty nice holiday related items.

Wreaths, neck scarfs, holiday sweaters, hedges and bushes with Christmas lights, Hot Cocoa tray, etc.

Though surprised there's no new recipes for sims to bake anything. Think the only thing we got a long time ago was the Winter cake I believe?

Would have liked to see some novelty holiday cookies in the shape of Christmas trees, ornaments, Father Winter's face, Snowmen (or snow pals) and gingerbread men. Think it would have been a nice touch to have either via event or part of the free update. Would have went real nice with the hot cocoa tray for sure. Was just suddenly reminded of sims being able to make Christmas cookies in S2 (which for me they always burned).

Even a novelty Christmas cake. Feels like it'd really help it feel more like the holidays for sims if they can bake together making Christmas (winter fest) related recipes. Especially if someone just have base game.

  • Don't give up hope yet. We've only seen the prizes for week one. We may still get some traditional holiday recipes. Let's keep our fingers crossed. šŸ¤žšŸ™‚

Oops, I may have spoken too soon. I just finished the first quest and only got the wreath and hedges. I thought all the prizes shown were for week one. šŸ˜§

        Haha yeah I saw that.

Would have been nice to just have some novelty cookie recipes for Sims to do. Kinda like the spooky day recipes that came with that stuff pack. (kinda wish there was theme related drinks/punch with that).

So thought it'd fit right in for this time of the year.

  • This is an American holiday that not all Americans celebrate.

Not interested in American holiday baking traditions. I'd rather have a sports car or a camper.

Kwanzaa is up for next year's Holiday event....not everyone celebrates that either.

When a gaming company introduces washed out American holidays in their game...my eyes roll deep into my brain... for refuge.

This Holiday Event is way too Americana for my taste and I grew up with it for many years.

I really would like some real gameplay to replace American holiday events in my game. šŸ˜

PS. The only Holiday sweets I bake would be European...They have better baking/ methods and it taste better.šŸ¤„šŸ¤—šŸ˜•šŸ˜

      And?

Just voicing what I'd like to see. Since it's a pretty common thing to see with Christmas whether you celebrate it or not. What I grew up with and like seeing the novelty things. Seeing other holiday dishes for around this time would be nice to see too if anyone else celebrates something different around this time of the year. Kinda like how they finally put some jewish recipes in the game finally, which is very nice for players that wanted something like that and feel more inclusive.

If you have Seasons you can just delete said holiday if you don't like Winter Fest or anything else and just make your own, which is the good thing about that. Base game wise there's not really anything like that just things like decor and other recipes to help emulate that with whatever you do celebrate.

and....I'm voicing what I don't want to see in this game.

I'm glad I can delete holidays...But I can't delete this event. I have this in my game already.

        It's okay to disagree.
