Pack Proposal — The Sims 4: Driven Lifestyles
Dear Sims Team,
I hope this message finds you well! As a longtime fan and dedicated Simmer, I wanted to share an idea for a new Game Pack that I believe would bring a fresh and much-requested gameplay layer to The Sims 4 — Driven Lifestyles.
Pack Concept Overview:
Driven Lifestyles reintroduces functional cars to the game, inspired by the beloved vehicle gameplay of The Sims 2. But more than just cars, this pack adds depth through careers, skills, teen milestones, and immersive community venues — all connected by the theme of driving, mechanics, and lifestyle.
Core Features:
- Fully drivable, customizable vehicles with enter/exit animations
- A new Auto Manufacturer career with Engineering and Marketing branches
- Mechanic Garages for tuning, restoration, and social gameplay
- Racing venues like Velocity Theatre and a new SimRacer TV channel
- Teen driving lessons and milestones tied to family dynamics
- Mini-events like Drive-In Date Nights, Street Racing Meetups, and Family Road Trips
Cross-Pack Compatibility:
The pack smoothly integrates with existing expansions and game packs such as Get to Work, Parenthood, Discover University, Outdoor Retreat, Cats & Dogs, Horse Ranch, Vampires, and City Living. This ensures both broad appeal and rich storytelling potential.
New Traits:
To deepen gameplay, the pack introduces several new traits including:
- Car Enthusiast: Sims passionate about cars gain inspiration, unique social interactions, and a “Gearhead Focus” moodlet.
- Daredevil: Thrives on speed and risk, increasing chances of tickets and unlocking rebellious interactions.
- Mechanic’s Mind: Naturally skilled at repairs and upgrades, gaining moodlets and faster skill progression.
- Oddly Driven: A quirky trait unique to the Sims universe where Sims obsessively collect odd items and organize them into bizarre categories, unlocking fun social interactions and moodlets centered around their eccentric interests.
Added Gameplay Depth:
To add risk and personality, Sims with the Daredevil trait or those in the Criminal career could receive speeding tickets, fines, and special consequences — adding meaningful challenge and roleplay opportunities.
Why Now?
This pack answers a long-standing community desire for cars with actual gameplay, deepens family and career paths, and creates exciting new spaces and social dynamics. Given the success of simulation features in other EA titles, Driven Lifestyles would be a welcomed and impactful addition.
Thank you for your time and all you do to make The Sims such a beloved world. I would love to discuss this idea further or help in any way to see it come to life.
With Love & Joy,
LJ
