Psychology career

The one big thing I'd love to see in The Sims 4 is a psychology career. I love that the Spa day pack comes with some wellness features such as meditation. However, I want something that is more mental health based. It does honestly surprise me with mental health becoming less of a nuance topic and more significant that this hasn't already been done. Relationship consultant is about as close as you can get but I think it would be great if there was a councillor or psychologist career path were you can also create your own practice (business & hobbies). You'd be able to understand other sims better. Get to know friends on deeper levels. Even experience some emotional burnout. Anyone agree that this could be a potential route? I know there's mods but even then they aren't really what I am looking for and I also don't want to download them.

  • Yes!  I agree there should be some kinda of psychology or psychiatry career path.  With that, also some kind of pharmaceutical career!

I think that’s a really interesting idea. A psychology career could add a lot of depth to the gameplay since emotions are already such a big part of The Sims 4. Having options like running therapy sessions, helping sims with stress or mood swings, and maybe even managing things like professional boundaries or burnout could make for really unique storytelling. It could also tie in well with existing features like wellness, social interactions, and even clubs or businesses. It feels like it would fit naturally alongside careers like Social Worker or Doctor, but with its own focus on the mind rather than the body.

Sims 2 had the Therapist NPC that showed up when your sim had an aspiration failure. He literally slapped some sense back into the sim. 😁😂
