Surprised that since the news broke yesterday no one here has mentioned it, is EA banning it? I'm an avid Sims 4 player and was shocked to learn that the Saudi Arabia government (along with two other investment groups) is poised to acquire and privatize EA as soon as next week. Is anyone else concerned about what this could mean for the game?? Specifically cc, which I could see being banned from the game to force players to buy packs instead.

Maybe this is why they said they were taking a break form packs to fix the game/catch up on bugs. They are waiting for the final results of the buyout before next year's planning/schedule?
Saudi Arabia PIF is the second EA investor since 2021.
Maxis has released Sexual Orientation and Pronouns updates for The Sims 4 in 2022 and BioWare has released Dragon Age The Veilguard in 2024.

Well it was branded or labeled as a break, but I wouldn't have called it that.
Looking at the reports the aquisition is primarily because of Battlefield and the Soccer games. Sims doesnt seem to be on their radar. Yet.
I think its unlikely they move the sims HQ to saudi arabia. The people over there have no clue about gaming and the people in the US dont want to migrate to saudi arabia.
Suddenly banning content thats poisitively accepted by most of the players or player made content would be... unwise.

I'm not going to buy any more EPs or kits until EA either acknowledges this is being considered or puts this rumor to rest. I know that they may not be able to say anything while a deal is being negotiated so I will take their continued silence to mean that they are going to sell the Sims or perhaps the whole company. So much for the Sims. 😆
