Selecting Ingredients For Meals

You can do this with the family recipes book, I forgot which pack it came with. But the ingredients are still just the ones available in game, you can't add something that isn't already there. One of my sims has pineapple coconut cake as a family recipe. You could do something similar and add pineapple and cheese ingredients to carrot cupcakes recipe. 

For reals?? I'm so happy to hear this. Oh, please let it be parenthood! That's the next pack on my to-buy list. 

I had to look it up, it's from Businesses and Hobbies. I thought it was from an older pack, but not quite as old as Parenthood. Still March this year seems like years ago. 😁😂

Oof. It's going to be a while still before I get there. I'm working my way up from the start. I've already completed 2015 & 2016. Halfway through 2017. 

Yeah I was gonna say, this post reads like Family Recipes arent a thing, but yeah. B&H added them, they use a special ingredient and have a special effect. You unlock the effects through gameplay, but can pass the recipe down to someone so they can make it without earning the effect themselves. The special ingredient increases the cost of the dish and you can name it whatever you want. 

Question... When selecting the special ingredient, can you only select 1 per meal, or multiple? Also, is the added meal benefit/moodlet thing a must choose option? Because I just want to customise recipes to what I know and like. 

Yes, you need to choose one of each. I haven't tried to see if possible to add more or none of some category. The moodlets/benefits is something you unlock through gameplay and if there are several household members, each one can unlock something, so it truly is a family recipe book. 

The increase in cost is good for business.

Several recipe benefits arent that major. Comfort Food makes sad moodlets go away faster and is unlocked really easily.
