Sims 3 travel vs Sims 4 travel

I was wondering if Sims 4 will ever have the same travel as Sims 3.  I still play Sims 3 for that, being able to go into pyramids finding artifacts, money, fighting mummys.  caves, going on quests.  Just curious.

  • I play both games as well and they are not the same game.

To answer your question, I highly doubt it.

Sims 3 is based on an older engine that allows open world gameplay.  Sims 4 dose not allow open world creation or gameplay.

There's no comparing an open world game with a closed world game.

  • I'm not sure, they explored the concept of travel and exploration with destination worlds with packs like Jungle Adventure but it seems to have been changed to worlds that we can live in now and we can also do smaller quests in some packs like Cottage Living.

And the whole concept of transportation is more or less... not there in the sims4, there is no time management needed when it comes to travel and if you need to move around in the neighborhood we are limited to bikes, boats and horses.

No cars, no public transportation, how our sims are able to move any longer distances is anyone's guess.

    Exactly.

Cars would only add new animations and a storytelling element to sims 4.

Without an open world the gamer will never get the full experience of driving through the country side or city nightlife.

Personally I dislike threads that compare older games to newer games that should be retired.

I think they should still add cars to The Sims 4. I don't think they could give any time management benefits or be used around the neighborhood but the game could give sims bonuses or something I guess, like using a car gives you a well rested moodlet or something when you travel with them.

While I understand that cars would not fill a large role in The Sims 4 engine, I still find it incredibly immersion breaking that we can't own cars and that there are no public transportation or vehicles for law enforcement or the fire department.
