Sims and Their Pregnancy’s
Hi Simmers! I wanted to suggest a deeper, more interactive pregnancy experience in The Sims 4—whether through a base game update or a dedicated game/expansion pack (all without needing mods or CC!). Right now, pregnancy is super simplified and could use a refresh to match how rich and story-driven other life stages have become.
Here are some fun and meaningful features that could enhance pregnancy gameplay:
- Maternity Clothes: Add a proper collection of maternity outfits that work throughout all trimesters—casual, formal, athletic, and sleepwear—so pregnant Sims can stay stylish and comfortable without needing CC.
- Maternity & Family Photoshoots: Include photo sessions specifically for pregnant Sims—solo, with their partner, or with the whole family. These could create new framed photos or decor items with sentimental value.
- Baby Shopping Trips: Sims could go shopping for nursery items (cribs, toys, clothes, etc.), either through active lots or rabbit holes. It could come with moodlets like “Ready for Baby” or “Nesting Complete.”
- Gender Reveals & Twin Discoveries: Add the option for Sims to have a gender reveal event (cake, confetti, or balloon pop reveal!) and receive a special doctor visit or scan to find out if they’re having twins (or triplets!). These could be emotional moments for Sims and fun to plan.
- Prenatal Checkups or Classes: Sims could attend prenatal visits or birthing classes that give relationship boosts with the baby or partner, and provide helpful moodlets or unique pregnancy buffs.
- Expanded Emotions & Buffs: Pregnancy could bring deeper emotions—excitement, nerves, fatigue, cravings, bonding moments, and even anxious thoughts about labor or parenthood.
- Pregnancy Announcements & Mini Events: Include new ways to tell friends or family the big news—like a dinner party with the option to announce the pregnancy or share a sonogram photo. Guests could react differently depending on their traits!
These features could add so much depth and storytelling potential—perfect for simmers who love generational or family gameplay. All of this could easily fit into a base game refresh or a future family/pregnancy-themed pack. No mods or CC needed—just more life built into the game itself.
Would love to hear what others think or what you’d add!
