Was there no way to identify this issue would happen? I may be wrong but I feel like if playtesters were used to test out updates before theyre fully released we wouldnt have issues like this happen where thousands of different users are affected by these huge breaks.

Customers are seriously hacked off, Andrew. The game they invested in is increasingly more broken. CC and Mods that players collected no longer work as previously. EA developed Marketplace with a new file type and never thought to test it before releasing the update?? C'mon. EA is looking shady, greedy and dismissive. It looks like this break was intentional to try and force your customers to buy from Marketplace. Moola microtransactions equate to a price increase compared to Kit pricing. In this economy?
Simmers are spicy, to be polite. CC and Mods that are wicked, adult and popular will never be eligible for your Marketplace. Disconnecting your players from their favorite game content, wicked or practical, will not be profitable.
Repair your game. Test before updates. Listen to your customers. Make using CC and Mods more stable, not less.
Now tell me why after it is clear that so many people cannot launch the game at all the posted on istagram still saying they fix it 6 hours ago,like ar u kidding me? Do they plan to adress it or what?
It fascinates me that they chose to massively break the thing that keeps many players invested in the Sims 4 on the eve of it getting major rivals. Right at the point they should be trying to keep players the most, they're driving them away.
After all these years of being a loyal sims gamer going all the way back to the very first SIms, I'm done dealing with this game. The latest update patch from March 17th pretty much sealed my fate and the follow up patch fix from March 18th didn't do squat to fix my issues, like many other simmers on here I have tons of cc and script files, but this latest update broke more than just a handful of cc in my folders. Someone or a number of people on the Sims team at EA need to be terminated or gone from the game's team. I'm done doing the 50/50 rule with the mods folder, as too much time wasted sorting through good vs bad cc. Luckily I have Inzoi and soon to be released Paralives will put the Sims 4 out of it's misery once and for all. Yes I'm very much aware that EA doesn't endorse or have any affiliation with cc or mod creaters. Not like you guys at the Sims Team care, but you just lost a longtime Sims gamer for good. Nice knowing you when you had a game that works without all buggy updates.
I'm so incredibly upset with the newest update. I spent nearly 100+ hours in one sims world just to open my game and everything from my custom content was gone. Ive had this game since before it was free - i payed sixty dollars for this game?? What the actual hell do you mean i have to pay for custom content too you greedy **bleep**?? If this doesn't get fixed i know hundreds of people are going to stop playing the game, especially with the new knock off releasing soon. Ea, get your **bleep**together.
Not only did the 18th's patch fix nothing,it made it compleatly unplayable.
Now what gets my blood boiling is that it is clear from evry reddit and forum that the game doesn't work for 90% of us and yet their latest fost on any social is the "We fixed it!".No u didn't,and they haven't adresses anything that is so infuriating at leat tell me that you are working on a fix for f's sake!
Sorry for the rant,i'm just so mad expecially cause it forced the update while i have auto update off and now i can't play.
I managed to pause the update part of the way through and then go offline so I could play for a bit.
I am sorry for u too,when i saw it was updating i immediatly stoppsd it and went offline.The game then proceded to force me to go online saying i wasn't logged in smh.
What infuriates me is that they have said nothing sonce dropping this supposed patch fix,while 90% of player can't acces the game and it's already been a day!
Yes playing offline currently is working, however this is no longer a forever option and hasn't been for a while that is where the issue is. I've been happily playing offline since monday as I am so angry about the marketplace but I know eventually the EA App will throw up an Error Code about my 'license' having expired.. This could be 2 weeks, 2 months or two years but it will happen. The only way of then fixing this is to briefly play the game online so it can verify your game license before you can go back offline.
But guess what in order to do that you have to update to play online with how the EA App works. Yes playing offline works at the moment but at some point you are forced to update regardless. This is the problem when you don't actually own the game you've paid for. You are just buying a license to play and EA can remove that ability or change the terms on a whim. I wish I could lock my game at it's current version forever just like my physical Sims 3 games are if I installed from disc, they're mine. We only have access to temporary offline fuctionality not a true offline experience.
Being sick and tired of these updates and the constant breaking of saves, (where fixes are often only availble in new saves) is both a understandable and valid critisim. "But you can play offline" isn't a vaild response long term. No hate meant just pointing out the sad reality. ❤️
EA should test patches and updates before releasing them to players. I see only two options:
1. EA rolls back the update
2. EA offers a full refund for all expansions, packs, and sets.
This is already the third day the game hasn't been working, and it's all because they just can't get enough. They've completely milked the cow dry.
