Please EA! If you're unable to make the Gallery detect modded sims like that and put the blue wrench tag for being modified, please please please give us a at least a "block creator" or "hide uploads from this creator" buttons. I am tired of using the Gallery as of now. Before this illness took over, I could use the Gallery with the disabled "include custom content" option and actually found purely vanilla sims which actually looked like their previews, WITHOUT using a tag search for #nocc (where some of those creators still coming up) or #WYSIWYG. Players shouldn't have to use a tag search for unmodified sims. Just like how the Gallery was intended to work.
I was fine with the close-up poses back then, because they were still vanilla Sims essentially, just with custom poses for visibility of their faces. And it’s still fine because if they ever wanted to be curated by Maxis, they must use vanilla (from the waist up) poses or thumbnails. Funny, being favorited by Maxis feels like an achievement then because everyone in the game will be notified that Maxis recently curated a content, be it a household or lot. They still do, but it’s less impactful due to the News Feed system and notifications being removed indefinitely without any sign of returning. But back to these catfish Sims, yesterday a user argued with me on Reddit; they were defending these catfish Sims by invalidating or downplaying the issue. They said it’s us who need to adjust and just not view them at all, when in reality they are bombarding the regular Gallery space without the “Include Custom Content” ticked. If we ignore this problem, it will never be solved.
Yes to all your points. The poses I can ignore too. They don't have any impact on the sim info at all and if you're missing the pose, the game falls back to a vanilla pose, so no impact on actual gameplay. No problem with that of course :)
That there are people out there defending this misbehaviour is above my head. I had those discussions too in the past and it is annoying as those people still don't understand WHY this issue NEEDS to be solved and that is exactly NOT how the Gallery is supposed to work. They could ask console players for their opinion, but those players seem to never consider other's situations. So what do I expect... I hope EA will find a way for flagging those sims correctly as modified.
