The tradition "Festive Lighting" could be improved

Hello,

Trying to take inspiration from IRL, I wanted to make holidays in The Sims 4 with its Seasons pack. The tradition of lighting candles on a specific occasion is something people do in various cultures, and one of the holidays in my homeland is Candlemas. So let's just talk about the issue with the Festive Lighting tradition:

The Festive Lighting tradition requires each Sim to light up 3 times specific objects. I think the list of these objects are way too restricted. It's either a fireplace, a menorah or a kinara. Having each Sim light up, extinguish, light up, extinguish, and light up again the same object is breaking the immersion. I don't want to have to light up 3 of these specific objects for each Sim of the household. That's way too much for the specific objects we currently have.

I would very much like to have some generic candles that would work too for this holiday tradition, and perhaps if possible, not having to light up 3 of them for each Sim to validate this tradition. Perhaps we could even have one Sim validate the tradition for every household member.
Please, at least add some generic candles to light up for Festive Lighting, or add this options to the candles we already have in basegame and other packs. Having to light up a candle 3 times per Sim would be less of an issue if we had more candles working for this task.

Merry Candle Lighting Day to you all,

Wyrmelin

I noticed my Sim could also admire the candles (the Menoras and Kinaras) and the christmas tree to achieve this task. So it's not as bad as I thought.

  • I understand that Candlemas in France is also the day of Crêpes.  Be nice to have crepes in the game. I'm hoping we get a French zone for a new place to visit and live

Oh... I don't know if this is a related thing to Candlemas but in the French vacation Expansion I suggested going to a Cathedral to light a votive. Not knowing the traditions I don't know if this would be helpful for what you are suggesting.  I'll give you the link and tell me what you think. France & Italy Vacation Pack  If it's helpful or related I can reword what Im asking for to support your idea.

Yes in France we make and eat crêpes on Candlemas. We also eat crêpes and galettes bretonnes pretty much any time we want. We like them so much that most cities I've lived in have crêperies (crêpes restaurants) or foodtrucks selling them.
From what I know of TS4, the closest we have to our crêpes are the icecreams in Snowy Escape. And less closely, there are the pancakes in the base game.

No one that I know personally lights up candles on Candlemas. We're more or less secular and we mostly just keep the parts about food from most religious traditions. But from what I've read, people used to light up candles at their homes to repel bad luck. Altar candles are a thing though, on a lot of occasions.

I am a bit of a Francophile and am familiar with a lot of what you said.
