It seems that the development team intends to turn The Sims 4 into an open world after completing adding all the worlds planned to be added to The Sims 4 Placing the Sims image on the world looks like the same mark in The Sims 3 Note I did not know The Sims game until 2014 that is at the beginning of The Sims 4
There is no universe where the devs are making Sims 4 open world. Even suspecting they are shows a complete failure to understand how the game works on the most basic level. It's not going to happen.
Yes, Sims 3 was open world from the beginning which, for me at least, makes the loading screens in Sims 4 unbearable as they destroy the immersion in the world. Having a loading screen when your sim simply crosses the road to another lot is crazy. But I guess it was for a reason, probably loading all the contents of the lot or something.
Interesting that you think Maxis are bringing open world to Sims 4 and they won't be adding any further new worlds. What are you basing this on? Do you have any links you can provide?
Yes. Personally, I do not miss the open world. I like having sims restricted to certain areas until i am ready to progress their lives. Having them all walking around freely and doing things i didnt want them to do was really gamebreaking for me.
Shy sims out talking to anyone and everyone is not it.

The team adds the same things that were added in the previous parts in new ways and the dogs cats and horses were all added from the beginning because they are complete and do not need to add anything new in CAS while the other sims are still adding new things so the team did not add the color wheel color bars or the feature of showing the Sims face when using options in the gameplay (this is what EA does)
