Way too many phone calls

Hi, I bought some new packs from the sale today and I'm running into this issue making the game less enjoyable being disrupted constantly. Basically I keep getting calls from sims either asking my sims to go somewhere or they want to come hang out. It's many calls in a minute and they don't stop coming and it's making the game unplayable. I understand this was addressed in the latest patch so I'm wondering if my game is somehow bugged or whether the issue was fully fixed. I'd appreciate any help I can get so I can go back to enjoying the game thanks!
