What if Expansion Packs had temporary Festival Events?
I really enjoyed the Sims Sessions event (limited time Festival) and it made me think about a different approach to limited-time events in The Sims 4.
While the current login rewards and quest-based events offer new content, they often don’t fit naturally into the stories of my existing households. Sometimes they feel disconnected from the gameplay I’m currently enjoying.
Instead, I would love to see temporary festival lots that can be visited by any household, regardless of their story, age, career, or goals. This would be great for creating wonderful, „once in a lifetime“ memories with my households.
Examples could include:
Cherry Blossom Festival inspired by Snowy Escape
Winter Market with seasonal activities
Harvest Festival inspired by Henford on Bagley
Music Festivals similar to Sims Sessions
These events could remain available for one or two months and function as special destinations that Sims can travel to.
One additional idea would be to allow players to try a small selection of gameplay features from the related expansion pack while visiting the event. For example, players could experience sledding at a winter festival or interact with farm animals at a harvest festival, even if they don’t own the pack.
This would benefit both players and EA:
Players get fresh experiences that fit naturally into almost any save file.
The events create memorable stories instead of feeling like separate quest chains.
Returning players have a reason to launch the game and continue playing their households.
Expansion packs (even older ones) can be showcased through gameplay rather than advertisements. - Try and buy
What I loved about Sims Sessions was that it felt like a real event happening in the world. I would love to see more temporary destinations and seasonal festivals (with changing activities, Not Like the current Festival stuff- always the same) that encourage storytelling and exploration.
