why.

I've spent bare minimum $1000.00 USD. on the sims 4 with all of their cash grabbing tactics. they have no regard for their customer base at all. I have lost complete interest in the game as a whole, I don't even enjoy with videos of lets builds on yt anymore because of the absolute neglect of this game. constant crashing can't build or edit sims in CAS because the game will randomly freeze and crash or I'm forced to restart the game entirely. This should not be happening. The fairy pack just came out and they are releasing another pack before even fixing the issues that have been happening since city living. They just keep pumping out broken content left and right without an apology or transparency with what's going on. I sincerely wish there was a way to recuperate the money I've wasted on this game. The game wouldn't even launch on my xbox for like 3 days straight and now it opens but constantly crashes when in game.  All I wanna do when I get off of work is enjoy myself and relax a bit with the game I've invested deeply in, but I cannot even do that because its so frustrating trying to even play the game now. All I want to do is build with the items I've purchased. I don't feel like I'm asking for much. I would be so much more excited for this new pack If the game wasn't an absolute train wreck in every way. I've been looking into other games similar and it doesn't seem like others have near as many problems as this game does. so upsetting to think of the wasted time money and energy spent on this game. I use console so I don't have mods/CC. I use cheats but who doesn't, it's a mechanic put into the game by EA, these features should work and not corrupt the game. It is not fair to the consumer to be forced to find solutions or work arounds for a game made by a company this big. seems like all the money EA makes off the sims 4 paid by consumers goes back into other games and not the sims 4. fire the whole sims 4 team and get someone in there that actually knows how to create a quality product, They like to make cute bubbly videos and play in our faces with sunshine and rainbows and then send out something that's broken and of poor quality, disatisfied but still fall victim in hopes they've gotten their stuff together. thank you for maybe reading my rant or at least the last of it, just so disappointed in the game as whole.

  • FROSTKILLER902 The game is very big to run on Xbox and requires some regular game maintenance to keep it running and avoid crashes and lagging. I completely cleared the library after advice from Xbox Support years ago and now keep it mostly empty. How many save games are you running? I never run more than 3 on my Xbox Series X, currently it's just 2 and one is a backup. In Other Households I clear some random Townies too as I've found excessive Townies cause massive issues. I clear them daily as there are a lot of new  households being generated lately especially after travelling to public lots. It's also good practice to clear the personal and build inventories of previous Sims and households.

I'd also try powercycling the console regularly. Switch it off with the Xbox button on the front for around 10 secs until it's shut down completely and the light stops flashing. Unplug the power cable to completely reset the power supply. Wait at least 10 secs then plug it back in. Switch the Xbox on with the power button.

You can also clear your locally saved data and sync up with the cloud again by selecting Sims 4 on your console home screen using the menu button (3 lines) go to Manage Game and Add-ons>Saved Data. You'll see 2 sets of data, pick the set next to your gamertag/username and select delete from console only (this step should be carried out while the game is not running). Then immediately load up your game and it will sync up with the cloud and retrieve your data. That's another tip I got from Xbox Support and I actually do this daily.

I'm happier with how the game is running on Xbox Series X, I'd say it's way too big for the older models now. I had issues on Xbox one and Xbox Series S. But clearing space regularly is essential for Sims 4 on any Xbox. I have the full game with all add-ons installed so I'm really careful with my in game storage. Hope this helps!

I have a Series X. I don't have any other games on my Xbox besides The Sims 4. I really only use The Sims 4 as a creative outlet to build. Seldom do I create Sims and play with them, and when I do, it’s one Sim because I don't have time or a real general interest in the Sims themselves, haha. 95% of my households/lots are all empty, and when the game puts Sims on the lot, I often delete them from my save so I can access the Build/Buy catalog without having to type out a bunch of different cheats. I only have 2 saves on my Xbox. One is from December of 2024, and my most recent is from March of this year. I have not accused the old save from December since creating the save I made in March. So I'll remove that one just in case it's a partial reason why my game is/was not functioning. I had removed all of the other saves long before I had started experiencing major issues like I've described up above. I will look into your other tips/suggestions and see if it streamlines my game. I appreciate you took the time to type out such a substantial response with multiple solutions!
