I think it would be nice if they gave us some tiered cat beds, to save on space if there are multiple cats in the household. Love the CC vintage TV cat bed you posted. I saw something similar but made into an aquarium. That would be fun to have too, maybe as an upgrade/recycle handiness project.

yeah, I loved my first pet stuff. It was well worth the 10 dollars. I would love to see more pet packs where they concentrate on just a few pets. I like how kids can play with pet rodents as homework, and play with and take care of them. Cats and Dogs was just that, cats and dogs. And, to be honest I’m glad they concentrated on them rather than watering them down to include more pets, but I’m so disappointed we didn’t get more pet packs. I would still like to see budgies, love birds and parrots. Maybe we could teach them to talk or something. I would like to see snakes and lizards as well. And a little Ferret would be adorable. I also like the idea of pet furniture as a kit!

I found SimGuru Grant's tweet about it:
You can blame me for no dog houses, and I stand by it. Dog houses are a weird relic of the past and not the experience we wanted. We wanted your cats and dogs to be inside, on the sofa. The dog houses have to be HUGE, which are so odd. Sometimes we will not repeat the past.

There's a way to build small sheds that look like doghouses or garden toy houses for kids. Some players even uploaded theirs on the gallery.
You just have to use a trick with leveling down a room so the top of its walls align with the top of the half walls you're going to use, then put a roof on the room, and drag it toward your half walls.
Step 1: make a room
Step 2: drag the room bellow
Step 3: add a roof on this room
Step 4: get rid of the room, and just the room, not the roof.
Step 5: make the dog house walls at the right size, the right height and the right position in front of the roof.
Step 6: drag the roof toward the doghouse.
Step 7: adjust the roof size
Now you decorate however you like.

Agreed. In all previous sims games (even 1) pets had beds and other furniture that actually looked both comfortable and nice in a house. What we have now is ugly, flat, and extremely lazy. They put more effort into making decorative pillows that barely anyone uses than giving our sims nice things for their pets.

Ugh what a fool. I never even used dog houses for my dogs to sleep in, I just loved the look of them outside. And where's his excuse for the awful flat pet rugs (I will never call those things a bed)? I'd rather sleep outside in a miniature house with a cushion than on one of those things.

The reason there was a backlash to MFP stuff is that it was released directly after Cats & Dogs was released and clearly items that had been created with a Pets pack in mind but left out of C&D for probably greed reasons. Any Pet packs at this point would likely be well received due to the time elapse and given very little things for pets have been added to the game since.
Personally I was rather displeased when MFP was released because the above mention reasons but I would really like a new pack for them. Here is my Game Pack idea for a lovely update for our furry friends Pampered Pet Pack
