Why does the game still create a burglar NPC even not to Allow Burglar Visits?

I had to delete every new Sims that is generated for this role. But now I found some sim that looks not bad. I will try to keep him and wait to see if it can prevent generating the new burglar.

I already blacklist the kleptomaniac trait, so he doesn't have this trait even he's a burglar. He still has Charisma LV8 and Mischief L10 (I'm not sure about charisma skill is related to burglar or not, it should be fitness skill)

My game has mods, so I can't confirm about situation in the vanilla game. Please let me know if your game has different behavior.

However, it’s my old save file prior to the arrival of Robin Banks. I don’t have her in my game, so the game need to create a new one.

As you have Robin Banks as the burglar in your game, that means you start this save after the burglar update. The game don’t need the new one, so it won’t happen in your game.

It would be hard to try without mod because you have to use old save file and play across the night. And it’s not guaranteed to get burglar every night too.

I don’t have to old save file that is purely vanilla, so I can’t check for this. I will assume it as the mod issue and keep playing with it.

Thank you so much for your information. At least I now know that the game will have only one burglar per save, not be generated nonstop like paparazzi.

I got another way to test without mod.

Delete Robin Banks, use opt-out burglar, and see if the game still make a new one or not.

But this is not worth for me (or you) to spend time to test. I would rather accept it and use time to play the game.

So, I think I will finish this thread until there are someone mention it.

My understanding is that new burglars are generated if anything happens to the original character. So like Father Winter from Seasons is Clement Frost in my game, but a different Father Winter would be generated if his status changed. 

I see, so the game need to have a burglar as it need one Father Winter. So, I will makeover one random burglar in my game to be my preference and keep them as sim population. (Robin is cool, but I don’t want her in my main save. I rather have random burglar)

At least with opt-out, my home is still safe 😂.

I had a burglary that one of my vampires quickly ended with a full stomach. 

I turned off burglaries after that and haven't had an issue since. I'll turn it back on when I'm ready.

Thinking with vampires view, it’s great that your vampires had food delivery visited your home.

I think when your game have a burglar, it will be the same burglar until the original one lost the role by death or being played. So, you shouldn’t get new burglar.

I deleted burglars when they appeared as new random sim in my game. So, the game still made them again. This time I will keep him and see if the game will make extra or not (I blacklisted kleptomaniac trait, so my generated burglar doesn’t have this trait.

Burglars don't stand a chance against witches and vampires in my game.

They are a nice snack for my vampires!😋🙂
