Why Project X MUST be a TS4 Engine Upgrade and Multiplayer

 I wouldn't buy it if it was multi player.  

Why? I totally understand your concern! I don't want a "multiplayer-only" game either. What I mean is an optional co-op mode or integrated access. You should be able to play 100% alone if you want to. But for those who want to build a house together with a friend or visit a partner's world, there should be an option to invite them. It’s all about having the choice, not forcing everyone to be online!

If the project x has any multi-player aspects whatsoever it means I will not ever buy it. The franchise is and only ever will be a single player game. I have ZERO interest in ALL multi-player games especially if they are online multi-player games. Including any multi-player aspects usually means the resources were taken away from making a great single-player core game, at least that has been what has been proven to me.

 If you look into the history of Sims 4, you would know it was rumored to originally going to be an online game with multi-player functionality. That was scraped when the last Sims City game tanked due to the required online functionality of that game. What we then recieved was Sims 4, where all the Sims act the same due to emotional states. I also believe that was why many animations are constantly reused.

Please no multiplayer! The appeal of the sims is the possibility to build your own world and tell your own stories. I don't want other players meddling with the sims in my save game.

I think the option to play offline is a great benefit. I wouldn't want to sacrifice that for a game that requires a constant Internet connection to allow multiplayer. 

Although I love multiplayer games, I got to say, I don't like solo games with a multiplayer option, like "invite your friends over". I think this works only for players who have a good portion of friends with the same playtime and schedule as them. Or streamers. Unless of course you only want to invite a friend over and make them visit your lot once, which we can sort of, almost do by sharing our builds on the gallery.
I prefer MMORPGs where we can make new friends by meeting players in game. Honestly I would love to have such a multiplayer Sims game. I guess we are not many in this case. I get fond memories from the time I played MMORPGs and I never played The Sims Online, so I don't fully get the multiplayer phobia. I'm convinced if Maxis made a new multiplayer game, it will be build on better foundations regarding the toxicity that happened on The Sims Online.
But perhaps some players just like that they can mod solo game to their heart's content. Like ultra mod them. Change the game to make it look and act so differently that it's not The Sims 4 anymore.

Given the negative reaction we always get whenever someone manifests a desire for a multiplayer option on this game,  there's no way The Sims 4 could one day get that from Maxis, even if at some point it was supposed to have a multiplayer option. It is what it is. If we want a multiplayer game in the Sims franchise, we have to play another game.

The OP expressed the point so well. 11+ years of leaving memories and collections behind that everyone has invested in. 

Some of my favourite threads are Simmers sharing their characters' stories and lives. It really only makes to do a MASSIVE TS4 update if they really are investing their time and money into overhauling the game. 

There are still SO MANY ideas and themes that can be added to the game in the form of new DLCs, it would seem such a waste for them to start from scratch with a separate platform. 

Wyrmelin​, it isn't a phobia, at least for me. I never played the Sims Online. I just only prefer this type of game to be single-player. The only people that I know who play it IRL are my own children. They only play it on my computer when I am not playing it. I have seen too many single-player games get destroyed as soon as they offer online multi-player options. I am an introvert, so I don't need gamer friends.
