Autosave despite going to main menu without save

Question

Wenn exit the game to the Main Menu from live mode you gat the prompt that ask you if you want to save but even if you decide to not it will still generate an autosave. I think that extrem problematic as it might overwrite the old game you want to jump back. Even more so if you do it because the manual save you tried before lead to an bug what for me end in Sims 4 freezing when move to the Main Menu and it can't handle the resulting bug from the autosave.

Just like the normal saves, you always have 5 backups of the autosave.
Are autossaves turned on ?

Had an issue with an game that end in an error code on saving that I had to test before reporting and where I then always had Sims4 freeze on returning to Main Menu thanks to the unexpected Autosave : Save Error 423:c326091a:297894fa | EA Forums - 13762903
And now I have to check how far I can go back with the saves in hope I find a save before going to school to not join the day when the autosaves overwrite an old each time I test one ...

That would be this issue: [RL] Save Error 423:various numbers/Issue with Secret | EA Forums - 13192678
