Best Method To Avoid Corrupting Saves With Buggy Updates
Hello! Like many others the updates on 9/18/2025 has caused some big issues with my game! I'm having black photos, blank paintings, inventories on sims / fridge / bookcase deleted upon opening post update and every time a sim travels. I usually just deal with bugs or go through my mods but it seems people are having these issues without mods and I really want to salvage the family photos I have taken and not break my game.
Since this issue has messed with saved items I really want to be careful not to corrupt my save (which has a very long history and a lot of work). I currently just recovered the last save version I had before the update and have not opened it yet - will not opening it prevent any corruption to those items I want to save?
I am also worried about how to check if the issue has been fixed as I don't want to open up that recovered save and then corrupt it as well. Also, should I simply just not play The Sims at all until I know the issues are resolved? Let me know your best methods to keep your most epic saves intact with these darn updates and how to know the right time to try and load them up again :)
