Blast from the Past Event: Blocked from Progressing (Crashing/..)

This happened to me! I was worried about being able to start week 3 without the time travel component, and I was going to start digging through the debug menu to find the metals and try to remake it, and ended up finding the time traveling component itself. So as long as it says week 2 is completed and you have access to all the rewards, you can literally just do "testingcheats on" > bb.showhiddenobjects and after scrolling for a little (filtering just base game helps a lot) it should come up. I placed it on the lot and was able to complete all of week 3's challenges as normal. 

Assuming all our menus look the same, the debug stuff starts right after the windows in "show all" and the component is just before all the baby food icons. When it places it will look like a package and your sim can click on it and choose add to inventory in live mode.

Also I did this after also deleting the accountDataDB.package file if that helps!

I have the same problem my sim got corrupted and I had to restart. I have finished the event up to week 3.

Have you tryed useing the gallery and download someone's room metal collection and get both the needed metals that way? 

I'm stuck on week 2 -- The computer I used to build the first time travel thing was at the library, so they wouldn't let me repair it. I left the lot and came back and the computer has been replaced, but it won't let me check off the "repair or replace the computer". Also, my sim is an Elder - so the one hour of exercise keeps almost killing him, but it won't check off as complete! Please help. 

This is happening to me. It keeps crashing and resetting me to the part where they have to visit the museum and library even though I made significant progress. No mods.
