Having the same issue. Vanilla game, on PC, completed the tasks with no issue but when I try to claim it says "claim failed." Exited and restarted and now the UI is entirely greyed out.

Did you try deleting accountDataDB.package ?

  Go to documents\ElectronicArts\The Sims 4 and move the file accountDataDB.package to the desktop.
